Cavaliers are so cute. Please post a photo of your puppy when you bring the puppy home! Hopefully you and the new puppy will be frogs in the not too distant future.
We are looking at getting a Cavalier King Charles puppy. Now you all know I am a Wannabe but we do plan on moving there.
Does anyone have one of these?
Do they tolerate the heat somewhat ok? Do they shed much down there or do they keep a summer coat all of the time? Do you check for ticks?
Do you walk them daily? Do you take them to the dog parks? (If yes do you keep them in the smalll dog area? Are the dogs there carefully monitored by their owners?
Do you live in a villa? and if you do is it because of playing with the dog? Is yours at all barky?
Does yours like golf cart rides? If yes how do you make sure they are secure in it?
Do you take yours to the squares?
Any other thoughts esp by those that own a Cav is appreciated.
Thanks again. S
We have been travelling back/forth from MA with our cav for 6 1/2 yrs. He LOVES The Villages. We summer groom him, he doesn't shed that much. We do take him to the dog park. He does not bark at all. He is people-oriented, loves walking around Sumter Landing. Most of all, loves taking rides in the golfcart. Ours is from a very reputable and conscientious breeder in MA. Taking walks is good for everyone! The only thing that needs a bit more attention grooming-wise are the ears. Otherwise, they are lovebugs! Let me know. Always looking for fellow cavalier owners!

Well thanks everyone. I am not smart enough to figure how to post a pic.
We have had our beautiful tri-colored puppy now 5 weeks. Her name is Pippa and she is funny and boy had we forgotten about the energy of a puppy!!!
She is very sweet, has never cried even the first night and does almost ;-) all her business outside. She is keeping us busy.
Maybe someday she will be there with us so she can learn to love golf cart rides as much as we do.!!!!
Great pic Duffy's mom!!!!

Congratulation on getting Pippa. I love that name. Hope Pippa gets to ride in a golf cart in the not too distant future.
You are going to really enjoy this breed! I actually just had a litter of puppies (only 4 days old) and was going to tell you I have some available, but won't be ready for new homes until October, however it looks like you found a puppy They are wonderful little dogs! And I love the name, I too have a tri named Pippa! Good luck
