Angry Dangerous "STUPID" Way To Walk Rover

I wasn't sure where to put this but here goes. On several occasions I've seen people running their dogs on a leash while driving their golf carts. One guy likes to drive against traffic. Yes on the wrong side of the median on the path along 466A between Morse and Buena Vista. He's steering with his right hand and holds the leash with his left while his dog runs beside him UNTIL tonight. While I was standing in the grass talking to another fellow walking his dog I see this cart approaching fast with a dog running next to it. Then I hear tires squealing from the IDIOT locking up his brakes because he almost ran over his dog when his dog crossed in front of his cart. I casually mentioned to him that it was not in the dogs best interest to be ran along side the cart. The IDIOT continued on. The other fellow that was standing next to me called him a real genius. I called him a friendly individual. At least the words started with F & I. I got back in my cart heading home only to see the IDIOT driving on the left side of the island (median) with his dog in tow. I mentioned to him, because I'm in the proper lane running parallel, that he would have felt terrible if he'd ran over his dog. He slowed but continued on. I thought screw it. You can't fix "STUPID".

The local vets that take care of the villages dogs will tell you that more of our pets are injured by golf carts than by cars. So much for taking poochie for a nice run. Please be careful out there.

One evening, we were in the mail station when a golf cart pulled in just about full speed. The driver had a dog on a leash and when he stopped, the poor dog tried to stop but skidded on all fours and finally rolled over and over til the leash ran out and he gagged.

I have seen that guy on cart path along 466 A or someone else doing the same thing. On top of that with more people here there is more traffic on that cart path now. Like you said you can't fix Stupid.

You can't fix stupid, it is true. But it breaks my heart to see dogs pay the price for the stupidity of their owners.

How right you are and the sad thing is, they're breeding, or have in the past and creating a whole new generation of "STUPID".

Default This could be animal cruelty.

We had a neighbor in Palm Harbor Florida who kept pit bulls in his garage.

He tried walking his dogs from his car.

He caused injury to one of the dog's paws when he must have sped up too suddenly with the dog being dragged along. A neighborhood boy saw the blood from the dog's injury which the cops when called followed the blood trail to my neighbor's home.

The Humane Society got involved and threatened to take his dogs away. The media got involved and it was not long until my neighbor was getting death threats from animal lovers.

This was covered by both the local Clearwater/St. Petersburg/Tampa TV and newspapers.

This neighbor moved away not too soon after this.

Saw a guy doing this on the trail along Morse between Lake Sumter and Mallory gate. My first thought was the guy has a "mobility" issue OR is very lazy! If it's either---then hire someone to walk the pooch OR get rid of it if you can't take care of it properly. Beyond stupid is right!!!!

I usually see them driving along at a slow pace so the dog is pretty much walking. The other day, the guy was really moving and the dog was running pretty hard to keep up with him.

Sometimes you want to put the guy on a leash and see if he can keep up with the cart.

Good Note and Topic. I really enjoy your description "Friendly Individual". Made me laugh. Could become a new catch phrase for TOTV.

Fumar, when I saw that you had posted in this thread, I was afraid to look. Unfortunately, I looked anyway.
