The problem isn't dogs at all, it is people who believe that their rights are more important than their responsibilities. This is not limited to any particular generation either.

Ya know... I wonder if your statements are out of date. None of my four male dogs were markers (peeing every three feet to make sure other dogs knew they were there.). It kind of depends on when they were neutered, and the prevailing thought at their time was to neuter by 6-9 months (further research says that's not good, wait a year). Even the one neutered at a year did not mark. At any rate, it is the non-neutered dogs that tend to mark. And there are very few non-neutered dogs these days.

Again, I fear you are making a blanket accusation. But I will say that a short leash and owner control will keep any dog, neutered or not, from going on someone's lawn. And that's the right thing to do.

We had one that was a marker, he was also an alpha and also had been neutered before a year. I guess it depends on the dog. We keep all of our dogs on a short leash and are careful where we let them go.

I kind of disagree with that. I thought the point of the post was to throw the statement out to the general population for comment.

Perhaps in our older age, many people get bent out of shape for too many minor things because they don't have enough to gripe about; insignificant things are magnified to grandiose purportions!

Regardless of where you live, there are always county and utility easements which generally are around ten feet or so of the front of a homesite, in addition to easements on the sides and back of a home.

While the homeowner maintains these areas and they show up on a survey that shows ownership, it would be very costly to sue someone for trespass.

I'd be willing to bet the homeowner loses!

You love animals deeply, purely, passionately, and I think that is a good thing. Some others don't love them like you do. There has been too much hateful banter on this forum today. In my humble opinion.
