Our beautiful birman cat!
Just put Yoda's picture as the avatar. I'm his Mom, hence, YodaMom is my username. I wanted to show off my beautiful birman with those pretty blue eyes. He is looking forward to living in The Villages too! We take him out on a leash. He will be known as the Birman from Buttonwood!!

Our TWO cats, Mikey, Harry and Hershey, LOVE living in TV.
Harry has become much more outgoing to strangers, particularly those who don't like cats. Has anyone elses cat had a change of personality? |

My Birman
Yoda's Mom,
I have a Birman also. She is so pretty with her clear blue eyes. Her name is Makita. I had another Birman, Squeaker, she was very ill and I had to put her to sleep recently. She was a sweet beauty also. My Maine Coon is a different story- what a character! How are you planning to transport your cat down to the Villages? I am moving there in Nov. and have been debating bringing onto the airplane or driving. Thanks. |

You have to first upload the photo to an online site such as Photobucket. If you would like, you can attach the photo in a PM to me, and I'll post it for you on this thread. I remember my dear friend and TOTV poster Pooh doing that for someone before. I thought that was such a lovely idea. |

We have done both, bring one of our cats as carry on baggage and stuffing her under the front seat - no problem and not a peep from her after take-off. Also drove from Norcal to TV with our three cats in a PU with a camper shell and pass thru window - again no problem after the initial half hour of moaning by the oldest. They over nighted in the camper shell outfitted with food, water and litter box while we stayed in motels. .

Brooklyn Senior,
Can't wait to see your Makita. When you get settled here, let me know. Our boy is eight years old and he has some health issues and has become a very spoiled boy. Yoda has never liked riding in the car but that is how we bring him. We discovered a few years ago, what he hates the most is riding in the carrier with the door closed. We opened the door on a trip (tied the door open) and it has worked out beautifully. Yes, he will cry for a couple of hours the first day but by day two and three - he rides very well. He will suddenly appear on the console and sit there for a while and then go back inside his carrier and sleep. He has always loved motels so that has never been an issue. So sorry about Squeaker. We know how you feel about losing one. We would never put Yoda on a plane (he has to be caged)because he would scream all the way and I'm sure the other passengers would throw all three of us out the door! |
