Default Strange Cat

I have always known our cat Samantha was a very strange cat, but tonight she proved it beyond any doubt. A little history. Sam was a rescue cat at about 8 weeks old. Sometime during the first few months we were eating Chinese food and she went absolutely crazy over the fortune cookie. She would do just about anything to get a nibble of fortune cookie.

My theory on this is she was rescued from a Chinese restaurant and escaped the dinner pot by hiding in the fortune cookie box. This is just a theory with no other evidence then her love of the sacred cookie. Doesn't care a bit about the actual fortune, just the cookie.

But alas her strange appetite continues. A week ao we were having corn on the cob, eating out on our screened porch. A kernel of corn fell on the floor and she pounced on it and ate it with great relish. I figured it was for the butter. But no, I tried another couple kernels before the butter and the same reaction. Very strange indeed. Now tonight was the ultimate for a supposed carnivore. We had a crab and avocado salad for dinner. I had a late lunch so did not finish all of mine. We had gone inside to refill the wine glasses and came out and there was that darn cat into my left over salad. Now I know everyone is suspecting the crab, right? Wrong. She ignored the crab and was after the avocado.

So here is a cat that gets feed the best canned cat food I can find with fish, meat, chicken and other, and she would be perfectly happy with corn and avocado with a fortune cookie for dessert. What will she eat next.

Carnivore my a**.

I have a friend who dearly departed cat loved cantelope. My cat loves spaghetti sauce.

They are unusual creatures.

My cat, Tombstone, has become a dog since we moved here. He sits nicely with the dogs and waits for this doggie cookie. He will try to knock food off your plate. (He is huge and can stretch out and actually look to see what is on the plate.) If that does not work, he will sit on one of the dining room chairs and "talk" to us until he gets a taste of whatever we are eating. These are all new behaviors....he never did any of them in NM.

Default Scene at the ice cream parlor

"Good evening my dear sir. My name is Samantha Strange, and it's rumor amongst the feline population of the Villages is that you have the most appetizing, refreshing and delightful deserts in the area.

Now with the initial pleasantries behind us, and with my feline patience beginning to ware thin, would you with all due haste prepare me a banana split using one scoop strawberry and two scoops of vanilla; my miserable vet won't permit me to have chocolate. I also desire to have pineapple, strawberry and hot carmel toppings. Then finish it up with chopped nuts and three cherries on the top of each scoop!

Now get your sorry but into gear and snap to it. I'm getting impatient and when I get impatient my claws start getting itchy... and you don't want to find out what happens next once they've come out!"

Very funny!

My Samanatha is Satan's sister. She too was a rescue and into one thing after another. She has been going into the rafters in my basement and pulling down pieces of insulation. She isn't eating it, just carrying it down to the basement floor and dropping it. I have no idea why or what is going on in her itty bitty kitty head.

Default My dog

My dog ate my electric razor this week so I will believe anything at this point. Your kitty and my puppy should do "lunch" sometime.

I hope you're bringing a dust pan and wisk broom when you take your dog for a walk. You never know when your dog might accidentally trim a small patch of somebodys grass!

Samantha isn't a strange cat, she's a gourmet!

As the owner of a rescue cat myself, methinks what really would be strange... is a cat that isn't!

This one could be Samantha's sister. Our's has a smaller white spot on the chest and a bigger one on her belly. Must be the black cat revenge.

She took a lot of patience on my part. She was one of my neighbor's cats. They returned her to rescue when they moved to Arizona. I was just sick about it and even though I did not need another cat, went and adopted her after 3 weeks.

The rescue did not know what they were going to do with her as she was cage aggressive. If you had stuck your fingers into her cage, she would have taken them off for you. When I got her home, she lived in my basement rafters for months. It took a long time for her to warm up to me. You would not know she was the same cat now. While she is a pistol (I have never had a cat that is this busy), she is very friendly and loving. That whole episode just knocked the snot out of her. She is mine now and going where ever I go. She has her forever home.

She is truly a beautiful cat. That shiny black fur and those beautiful gold eyes. They almost seem to glow at night.

I had one cat who would eat corn on the cob right off the cob.
Another cat was mad for ginger snaps, would try to steal them out of my mouth.
Cats are indeed strange creatures. Not totally domesticated like dogs.
