My dog corned an anole (lizard) in the lania a few days ago and got the surprise of his life.
The lizard was squarely in Sport's mouth and decided to fight fire-with- fire so to speak. It latched onto Sport's right lip with its tiny mouth and would not let go. My dog, then, banged his head repeatedly on the carpet trying to dislodge the cunning lizard from his lip but the guy hung on for his life. Feeling sorry for my pooch I let him outside so that he could move around a little more and by using the friction of ground and jaw, Sport finally managed to bump the fighter from his lip into his mouth.... Oh, well, you probably know the rest if you have a dog. My chihuahua mix quickly squished the reptile in his mouth and spit it out and looked at me for help at finding his next gecko like creature. The lizard had decided earlier to hand around one of Sport's water bowls. Not a good idea if there is any kind of terrier in the house with the water bowl. Sure glad he did not go after one of the Villages monkey squirrel if that critter tried the same tactic as the anole. |

Are they anoles or geckos? I have a small net and go gecko hunting daily. I catch them, tag them and let them out in the wild. They come back

In response to Rubicon's question, I believe all the lizards in TV are members Mexican Brown Anoli. The are actually a distant cousin of the Camelion. They are essentially harmless except to dogs who try to eat them.
