Default For those of you who knew Katrina

Just a quick post to let you know I had to put Katrina, my companion Sheltie of over 13 years, to sleep today. It was her time. A big thanks to Redwitch for coming with me to the Vets.

Default Dear Dicky,

Oh I am so sorry to hear that Dicky, to lose a pet/companion is a pain that no one can describe. May memories comfort you in your time of loss of your dear Katrina.
With sympathy,
Jeanne

That is a day none of us look forward to.I have a 7 year old Border Collie/Collie mix who thankfully is in excellent health but I know the day will come when it will be her turn and it is something I do not want to have to think about. Sorry for your loss .

Default "If It Should Be"

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should wake me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this battle can't be won.

You will be sad, I'll understand,
Don't let your grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
What is to come will hold no fears,
You'll not want me to suffer, so
When the time comes, please let me go.

I know in time, you too will see,
It is kindness you do for me,
Although my tail its last has waved
From pain and suffering, I have been saved.

Do not grieve that it should be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do,
We've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

DickY,
Sorry to hear about Katrina. I know you were both very fortunate to have each other for all those years. Through the tears hopefully there will be laughter as you recall the many wonderful times you had with Katrina.

Dicky, so sorry to hear about Katrina. My heart goes out to you. We have a maltese who has a terminal liver problem and I cannot imagine life without him.
I know that you have many friends who will help you throught this sad time.

DickY:

Very sorry to hear of your puppy passing. We have pets and it is hard to see them go.

DickY,

We are sorry to hear your sad news. I am glad Redwitch was there for you. Jeannie posted a poem that always brings me to tears as a pet owner - but you did the right thing. I am convinced there is a doggy heaven where she can chase sheep to her hearts content.

DickY,so very sorry about your beloved Katrina.
I always enjoyed seeing you and her riding in the golf cart or her guarding the cart at the mail boxes.

DickY, we are so sad and sorry for the loss of your beloved Katrina. As you said, it was her time. But as animal lovers, we completely understand how much it hurts.
