Don’t use grass. Use fake grass.

Yes, please do that. My friend had a birdcage added to her lanai, all ARC approved and permitted, and while they would only allow a small amount of grass (4 x 4 or 8 x8, I can't remember which), they did allow it. She has a small dog and wants a place for him to go when it's too rainy for a long walk. And this was just a month ago.

I have used fake grass before and it smells, even after cleaning it with bleach. Real grass apparently neutralizes the odor.

I remember the rumor that a bobcat tore through the screent to get the cats. Then it became a coyote doing it. Doubt if there is much truth to either.

So this is weird..I called Community Services back again and got a gentleman this time. I asked about having grass or rock inside a birdcage and he said "inside a birdcage is considered inside a house so you can do whatever you want" and I said to clarify I can build a birdcage over a piece of lawn and he said Yes. Wonder why some people are being told no and some are being restricted to how much grass...maybe no one is on the same page there
