We are closing on our home in Buttonwood in March. Today, we find out that many insurance companies will not underwrite for owners with "dangerous/biting breeds". We have 2 German Shepherds. What insurance company do you have your homeowners ploicy with?

My understanding was that most insurers charge an additional premium for some dog breeds. But to not insure at all seems
![]() Our insurance is through AIG and we used The Villages Insurance (but we don't have a dangerous biting breeds).

When Mom in law had her rottweiler, she also insured through The Villages Insurance. The dog wouldn't have hurt a fly, but it was one of those breeds insurance companies either don't insure for or charge an additional premium. Give them a call.

If I remember, when I had my Bartholomew - a Shepard-Chow mix, he was listed as an exclusion in the home policy.
I had my policy with Travelers from The Villages insurance.

I'd PM K-9 for advice. I'm sure he can send you in the right direction.
