Default 2009 Gas EZGO

Purchased a used EZGO about a month ago. The gas smell is awful. Whole garage smells. I had an extension exhaust pipe installed out the back of the cart but still smells.
HELP!

Is the smell exhaust or raw fuel? Gasoline or exhaust?

Gas. Maybe a little oil smell in there too. I can not close up the sides and drive it. It would kill me.

Sounds like a leak in your exhaust manifold. By your description the fumes are coming
From the upper part of the engine, burnt fuel before the muffler.
What year is it.

Default 2009 EZGO Gas

It is a 2009 EZGO Freedom model.

I actually thought that the smell was just underneath me which would make sense as to why the smell is so strong.

Question is - can you fix it without costing me an arm and a leg and my firstborn? I already spent over $4000 for it, plus addition of the tail pipe.

Default Fuel additive

Amazing what a good fuel additive can do. Stabil won't do it. That and closing the back window so exhaust doesn't come back ya.

Hi Frank. I wrote to you a month or so ago about my 2009 EZGO gas cart. The good news is I sold it. I found another cart - Club Car 2008 with curtis cab. I think you know the owner. He said you installed a speedometer and changed the brake pads on it? His name is Dick and he has 2 other golf cars - a Par Car 2014/2015 and a Tomberlin.
I liked this guy. If you know who I am referring to can you please shed some light on his Club Car before I give him a check to buy it? He lives in the Village of Duval.
Thanks for your help! --- Julie
