:clap2:

coralway 08-20-2012 08:24 PM

3-0 in the 3rd

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 08-20-2012 08:56 PM

It's a shame that the Red Sox are so bad this year. It's so much more interesting and exciting when the two of them are neck and neck through the end of September. Watching the Yankees run away with the AL East is like watching pain dry.

Actually, Dr - if you're a Yankee fan, it is much more fun watching the Red Sox implode before your very eyes.

BobKat1 08-20-2012 09:28 PM

5-3 White Sox bottom of the 5th.

ugotme 08-20-2012 09:31 PM

FYI -After tonight's game, there are 40 left.
The NYY record this year against the 4 toughest - Tampa Bay, Baltimore, White sox and Oakland is 13W and 18L (not counting tonight's game)

But then again, these are the NEW YORK YANKEES, and it is nearing October.
sooooooooooooooooooo LOOK OUT HERE WE COME !!!!

ugotme 08-24-2012 09:30 AM

Okay - that's enough!

Okay Yankees - enough is enough!
You have let your lead slip to 2 1/2 games.
while I realize it can be more "fun" this way - let's get back on track!

JUST SAYING

Obviously Bobby Valentine was not the answer

2BNTV 08-24-2012 10:09 AM

It will be a fight to the end of the season but I am hopeful for this reason. The Yankees will be facing an easier schedule going forward.

Hopefully, when they get Rodriguez and Pettitel back, they will play better and sanity will be restored to the Yankee universe.

Go Yankees!!!!!

Tom Hannon 08-24-2012 11:16 AM

AROD is a cancer. The Yankee thirdbasmen have hit over 350 with AROD's absence. Chavez and Nix have been great.

Yes I agree but he is needed as they have been throwing a lot of lefties at the Yankees and he needs to regain some semblance of his hitting form. He was heating up wheh he got hit and broke his finger. I can only hope he hits like he did in the 2009 playoffs.

I believe he is considered the most over rated player in baseball. He seems to balance the line-up for what it's worth.

Tom, it always seems to me that Arod will get a hit when the yanks are up by 4 runs, but when we need a hit from him in a key situation he doesn't come through. I don't know if my perceptions are accurate or not, but that's what it seems like to me. There must be some kind of stat we could look at to prove or disprove it.

The George Foster syndrome. He'll hit a three run homer with the score 9-2. Never liked Arod and I will never consider him a Yankee. There were many Yankees who come over by trade and have become real Yankees. Sparky Lyle, Paul O'Neill, Nettles, Pinellia and so many others. Even Ichiro agreed to bat at bottom of lineup, sit against lefties and play left field. To be a Yankee is an honor and I don't think AROD feels that way.

I think your perception is correct as I have noticed it also.

A-Fraud needs to come up bigger in clutch situations like Captain Clutch -Derek Jeter.

BTW - I think Jeter is having an MVP season.

Tom Hannon 08-24-2012 03:56 PM

Jeter is a great one and he could play in any era.

ugotme 08-24-2012 07:47 PM

As previously mentioned -After tonight's game, there are 37 left.
The NYY record this year against the 3 remaining "toughest" - Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and Oakland is 11W and 17L.

NOT going to be an easy road but then again, they are THE NEW YORK YANKEES !!!!

anarick 08-24-2012 08:15 PM

Yeah. Yankees 3 to 1. Swishereeno hit a 2 run shot in the top of the 7th.
it's not over till its over.
O's are also winning.

anarick 08-24-2012 09:17 PM

Pettite coming back can change the whole dynamic of this pennant race! I think the last time I was worried about the Orioles was when Jim Palmer was pitching!

Robertson was scary and the offense just shut down after the first inning. They need a bit of spark in that lineup.

Orioles scare me....almost like that proverbial "team of destiny"..they just do not go away !!!

ugotme 09-20-2012 08:42 PM

Top 6 - Yanks up 10 to 4.

Bobcuse 09-21-2012 08:30 AM

We may finally have turned this sluggish offensive period around. I continue to be amazed how obsessed Girardi is with his lefty vs righty lineups rather than going with the hot bats. Having Ichiro batting 8th while keeping Swisher in the 2 hole blows my mind. Swisher's grand slam was great but the only hit he had again yet Joe keeps him in this slot. I hope it doesn't bite us down the stretch because it's been a rally killer way too often. But....Go Yanks!
