Greens running nice. Only 18 holes open thru the end of September.

Are they running straight tee times with only 18 holes open. Gotta love those tee times between about 9:30 to noon and having evening rates starting at 3:00!

Pond on #2.
Bad contractor has been "working on" for a couple of years. Closed it down and brought in big equipment.

Great question
All I can state is this: When Laurel re-opened after months of renovation a few years ago, I played it the first day it re-opened. It was my back nine, so I was maybe the 20th group through. Already, there were multiple unfilled divots, unraked bunkers and dozens of unfixed ball marks on the greens. In some ways maintaining our courses in good condition is like the proverbial Dutch boy with his finger in the dike. I would advocate a series of increasing penalties for failures to fix divot, ball marks and raking bunkers with loss of golf privileges for a period of time. Or a $10 surcharge in greens fees for offenders to cover the cost of repairing their damage. If this was a private CC, there would be no problem enforcing it, but alas, it's not as easy here. |

Quote:
Less than competent contractor, but also poor design by the Architect of the renovation. If anyone has seen the "plans" they use to renovate golf courses in TV, it would be obvious what happened. The so-called "plans" are really just sketches and the contractor is left to his own devices. Guys getting paid $20/hr to operate a bull dozer, shouldn't be doing an Engineer or Architect's job. |
