Many thanks RR, that is the plan. We can't wait to kick up our heels with you and Rocky at LSL. BTW I dug up St. Joe, cleaned him off and proudly perched him in our curio cabinet for all to see. He more than did his job. Two sales, not just one. It wasn't his fault there were extenuating circumstances. Burying St. Joseph works!!!

We will leave the key with the realtor and see what happens. I (we) can't wait much longer to be in TV. This is worse than "waterboarding". I'm happy to see (read) everyone is okay and some lucky folks are are getting their chance to start their new life in TV. I was just looking at the Guess The TOTV Star's page and brought back fond memories of what seems like a hundred years ago. Will keep you all posted; you are in our thoughts....Johnny
So sorry Johnny the deal flopped. Good move to come down during the winter. Have you given any thought to renting your NJ home? Teachers often are looking for rentals for the school terms. We did that once when we had a home that wasn't selling as quickly as we expected and we bought another home and carried two mortgages which was quite a burden. This was many years ago, however, it still was tough to keep two homes going. It so happened that a neighbor who was transferred (in military) returned to our neighborhood and needed a short-term rental; came to us and asked if we would consider same. We took a six month lease with them which really helped until the house sold, which it did just in time for our tenants to leave. We lucked out, huh?

If you do a short-term rental, would advise you close the deal with a stringent lease and deposit, for your protection.

Hope things work out for you soon. I recently sold a beautiful condo in NH and dropped the selling price $40K less than the selling price, to get a quick sale. It sold within the week. That was just at the start of this RE slump. Timing is everything, huh?

Everyone in TOTV is rooting for you. We hope to return to TV sometime in the Fall and look forward to seeing you there.

Best of luck to you.....Barb

Thanks Barb, renting would be an option next year. Barbara is a little skiddish on the idea. She heard a couple of horror stories. We know the good Lord has a reason for what's going on and we really feel he will come through for us in the near future. Thanks for the kind words, hope to see everyone sooner rather than later....Johnny

Johnny and Barb - what a shame that it happened again. You are truly on a roller coaster with this sale. We are still here in NJ too with only one offer (way too low) and a lease to buy that wasn't a good deal according to our attorney - so here we sit. There must be a plan for us that we aren't having any luck. I hope by the winter we are able to join you in TV. Good luck.

Discouraged is an understatement!

Went to try on new clothes yesterday and found out I wasant doing as good as I thought! Could it have been my imagination that I was losing weight. OMG, those dressing room mirrors !!!
Well, for the record I only went down half a dress size , Beady, I think I will purchase a new wardrobe of caftans.

Chels, every little bit helps. This has been such a good lesson for me to never take anything for granted. Moving into TV is not a right of passage, but rather a privilege that one must work for to receive its fruited rewards. I don't know what I just said but it sounded great....Tks, Johnny

Nonie, why on earth are you discouraged? :dontknow:

You've been on a diet for only one week and have gone down 1/2 dress size! That is awesome. That equals two dress sizes every month. You'll be a size 2 by cruise time for sure.

I went out to lunch today with a neighbor who lives 2 doors down from me. I would see her walk her dog every day and we would greet each other politely. It wasn't until earlier this summer when I really took time to chat with her and found her delightful. She tailored the bargain dress I found for an upcoming wedding I'll be attending. Anyway, I took her to lunch and had not only an enjoyable burger (YUM) but wonderful conversation.

Amy Newsom is in the process of staining my concrete now. Not only do I enjoy Amy's personality but the job she is doing is superb. The smell of the stain is a little strong but a cheap way to get a high! No, not really...I am just joking! NOT! 1rnfl

Send her my way, Bright. You know, when we find good contractors, we should hook them up with TOTV. I can't think of a better place for their advertising dollars.

I've seen a couple of people complain about some of us posting to much and thinking we "own" TOTV. It surprises me to read such thoughts. Everyone has the privilege of posting as often as they desire. Initially I watched from the sidelines until I got the courage to post.
There was no going back from there. This forum is only interesting because people post. If the top posters stopped posting, there wouldn't be that much to read. You can count on Tal to bring up a range of continuing topics. Muncle, Hancle and Fumar are the resident sages. Growwwwwwwwwling Chels has the spiritedness of a team of wild horses. The girl says what she means and means what she says. Barefoot, Bright,Gracie, Nonie, Susan, Kathie and Ronda crack us up with their great senses of humor and love for humanity. V07, Barb, VK, BTK and others offer unique insights into government and I value their opinions. Russ Boston, F16, and Steve from NY offer us some great informative posts. Donna showers us with happiness and fairy dust. Johnny makes us all beautiful. I could go on all day. What a group. I am honored to live among you and call many of you friend. If you haven't been to Crispers, you should go just to see Village Kid's smile and bask in the warmth of her personality. Red will always lend a hand. Hyacinth and Sid will tell us where to go and are just lovely.(That's travel, you all) Wow, there are so many of you....and many I failed to mention and I love all your posts. Please never stop posting and brightening all our days. For those that think we post to often, well, I'm sorry about that. We're not gonna stop. We love TOTV!!

Well said, Sam.

I was one of the early members of TOTV. In those first months, Jan (Talk Host, Admin) was the most prolific poster, often initiating controversial topics just to get people talking. Seems like many days there were no more than 10-20 posts...only took 5 minutes to digest a day's worth of posts. Now, the volume, breadth, quality, and variety of topics, posts and yes, personalities, is incredible. Embrace and appreciate the value you get from the posts you enjoy and don't let the persons or topics you disagree with get your goat .... that's my motto.

TOTV is populated by a great bunch of people and getting better all the time.
