Default American Legion in TV

There was a mention on another thread of an American Legion Post on 466. I was aware that there was a Legion Post in Lady Lake (Post 347), but did not know there was a post in TV. I plan to transfer my membership when I retire and move to TV in 2012, and would prefer a post within TV, if there actually is one. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

When we moved here from Va, my husband transferred his American Legion Membership to Post 347, Lady Lake. It is on the Southwest corner of 466 and Rolling Acres Road so it is very close to The Villages but it is not golf cart accessible. There is no American Legion Post within The Villages. Post 347 has been given approval to expand -- doubling the size of their hall-- ground has already been broken for this.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's an active post if they are building on.

Tks All - I'm a member of a fairly large small town post in Mohawk, NY. The membership is around 400,which for our neck of the woods, is pretty large (the village is only about 2,000 people, so our membership comes from far and wide). I like the small town feel of our post, and will probably be looking for something similar. Being close to TV, I have to think that the majority of Post 347's members are residents of TV.
