cassie, i don't post often, but i see something you just won't accept. I am not a villager, but I see their point of view against yours. Generations have different values, causes, dreams and expectations. Us older generation sees things a totally different way than you do. I personnaly have a 35 year old daughter that i refuse to speak to because of her generations' values, causes, dreams and expectations (and white trash ways). ( I am not calling you white trash, just my daughter)If you manage to infiltrate this "empty nest" group for your own perogitives it will fester and grow to a pure hate and you will be dealt with in their (empty nesters) own way.But by your gaining 3 friends out of thousands here, you are dragging them down too. It seems as though your inflalted ego will not let you see the BIG picture

There was quite a riff a week ago that affected several folks that have been here (at least) twice as long as you,by standing up for you, and you still keep it up cuz it is free and the admins won't interfere.

Ok, bottom line, PLEASE find a different outlet to seek what you are looking for.

Sorry Kath, I had to get it off my chest.

I think most kind and compassionate people have young friends. I have many, but their friendship is different than those of my age group. Thank heavens we can't fast forward a younger person's life. Because NO ONE is exempt from the disasters, deaths of parents, sometimes deaths of children, cancer, heartaches, disappointments, fears and worries that come with each year of our lives. Nor can we forget the honors, the awards, the joys, the fulfillments, the dreams come true, the wisdom and information we have gained by just living, by passing the years. These cumulative events change you, they teach you, they strengthen you, they soften you and they AGE you and that is what we can't explain to someone who hasn't lived through all of those years. NOW, at this stage of our lives, most of us prefer to be with others who have been down the road of years that we too have traveled. It isn't meant to exclude, we just have earned the right to be comfortable and not make allowances for the others persons youth. We each have our choices. We each will do what we want to do, but for the most part we seniors are more alike than different.

No matter how one spins it, you have not seen or done it all. We all have. Some of us have gone through 30 to 40+ years of life you have not been through yet. That is why we are peers and you are not. Grandchildren are fine to see on squares as they visit their grandparents, but they don't live here 365, they go back home. We (us older folks) have a much different concept about living in The Villages than a younger person would. We have paid our dues to finally get here, in fact some still struggling to try, and when they get here they want to be comfortable in our environment. I wish you no ill will, and what happens will happen but please step back and look at the window from the other side.
I agree.

BTW The 365 day pass, is a 30 day pass that is effective for 365 days. This is a covenience so you do not have to get it renewed frequently. You cannot use it everyday! This is the same rule that we all live by.
This pass procedure is being reviewed by an active committee.
