Weather Club?
Is there some sort of a weather club in TV? I thought I saw something a while ago but now cannot find anything.
Thanks. Margaret |

Thanks for the list. No weather club, but it's nice to have the list. I've never seen that one before.

What does a weather club do?
If you join, please ask them to turn down the heat. |

I don't know what a weather club would do, either, but my DH has been driving me nuts since we got here 3 months ago from CT with wondering about storm directions, the layering of the clouds, why is sunrise almost an hour later here than in CT but sunset is only about 15 minutes later here, etc. He needs some weather nerds to talk to. Like Gracie, I would just like someone to turn down the heat!

I think you're on to something. I'd be interested in a weather club. I love my new home in The Villages but as a lifelong New Englander, some of this environment has got me perplexed.

It must be something with people from CT or New England - weather fascinates me. I wish we did have a weather club. Maybe we could start one - wouldn't know what to do though. We could sit and watch the grass burn - yep, it's hot!

You're so right. New Englanders love their weather reports. How else would we know when to stock up on bread and milk?
I lived in Venezuela for three years. Drove me nuts. The evening news program was 20 minutes of news and 10 minutes of sports--no weather! I guess it would have been a short program. For 6 months, it rained every afternoon for 20 minutes. And then for 6 months, not a drop of moisture. BORING! |

Let's see as a weather person you could do a weekly forecast each Monday. Highs in the low to mid 90's, lows in the mid 70's with a 30% chance of rain.

With a weather club in TV you could beat that heat down.

I'd be interested in a weather club if it would teach me more about what causes weather. In any activities I've been into weather plays an important part such as fishing or riding a motorcycle. I've been taught that when a cold front comes in contact with warm air, it causes thunderstorms. Why then when I open my freezer door on my refrigator it doesn't cause a thunder storm in my kitchen?

Top 10 things a TV Weather Club could do:
10) Sit around and talk about the weather 9) Be wishy-washy (i.e., any way the wind blows) 8) Take turns playing Gordie Howard on Lou Grant 7) Sound the horn on golf courses to announce lightening 6) Install wind socks on the TV golf courses 5) Get mad and STORM out of the room 4) Move briskly during summer and winter (i.e. run hot and cold) 3) Rain dances on the town squares 2) Synchronized umbrella walk in TV parades and the number one thing Weather Club members could do -- drum roll please... 1) Answer the phone at the sales office, (i.e., repeat after me: "It's a beautiful day in The Villages") |
