Default Tv mount outside wall

I usually drill all the way through
The furring strip, insulation and use a TapCon and attach the mount to the
Concrete wall.

Ummm, why is there sheetrock / drywall / gypsum board on the exterior walls? That is usually stucco/concrete tilt-up/vinyl siding. One of us is con-fussed.

I think the OP is installing the TV on the inside surface of an exterior wall.

If you don't want the headache and want it done very professionally, talk to Tom at Villages AV. (I think that is his name. It's been awhile) I had him hang 3 TV's for me with the largest being a 75" on a concrete block wall. He did such a great job. He'll install the electrical, make sure all the cables are hidden in the wall. He even provides cables and the appropriate mounts if you need them, and his prices are reasonable. There is no way I would use best buy over Tom. I've referred many people to Villages AV and all of them were very happy.

The smartest thing to do is get a pc of 1/2" plywood prob about 15"h x 36" wide. Mount the plywood to the wall (paint it to match wall if you like) this will ensure you get at least 2 studs, then mount the TV hanging bracket to the plywood. Have done over 30 of these, it's the safest way to ensure you get solid mount to studs.

... or just screw into the concrete block.

I had a renter mount a TV above my fireplace many moons ago. He left the TV mount behind when he moved out (and I moved back in -- long story). I made the assumption (oops!) that he secured it to the studs and used it for my TV. A few weeks later, while watching a movie, I had the great pleasure of scrambling across the room to catch my TV as the expanding anchors he had used ripped through the sheetrock.

So, now you have heard of a TV falling off of a wall. LOL!!

100% Correct. I researched this on Talk of the Villages and made an appointment with Tom. He really, really knows his stuff. He's careful, but fast.

In a half hour, we had a strong "Pro Mount" that could easily support our 65" TV. He knows how to unbox the TV, provide the proper wall mount, find the optimal studs use good cable management to hide the power cord and ethernet cable. All this while pleasantly explaining what he's doing to me as I asked questions. I recommend Tom highly and I'd definitely use him again.
