Best Buy did an excellent job at installing two 85 inch TVs on my walls. They were very professional; this was two years ago. I would definitely call them again.

Best Buy gets a lot of complaints, but what other big box store competes with them, since Circuit City went out of business?

Samsung also gets complaints for their TVs, but they sell more TVs than any other brand.

Best Buy hung my 75” 2+ years ago in my Gardenia. No problem.

Before you drive yourself crazy, why don't you bring your concerns to Best Buy and question them about it and see if they will take responsibility if there is any damage to your TV because of the installation now and in the future.
I had a TV mounted on my wall years ago by Best Buy, granted it was not the size you are dealing with, but they were professional and even with all the added things I've attached to the back of the TV it is still up there.

Are these wood pieces big enough to secure the bracket to hold a 60+ lb tv. Anyone done this and successfully the tv has stayed attached?
Instead of mounting it you can use a stand which will hold your TV and stand on top of any dresser, table, bookcase etc. Since the stand hides the down wires you will have no pentration of the wall.

Smile Hanging TV on wall

Best Buy hung my 60" TV on the outer living room wall of my Begonia almost six years ago. It's still there, and you barely notice the strip that conceals the cords.

Yes, Village AV for sure.... Gee, we have 82" so I think 60 something would be a peice of cake.

Had several tvs installed (hung on walks) by BestBuy. Great work. They know what to do and guarantee their work.

One factor I've not seen mentioned, but related. If you buy a TV from Best Buy and have anyone else install it, they will NOT even help lift it off the wall if the TV goes bad and Best Buy has to replace it. I'm not talking unplugging wires etc, I am talking literally just lifting off the wall. It has to be sitting on floor or equivalent.

When I moved in, I bought a 77 inch TV at Best Buy and had Villages AV install. They did a great job. A couple of weeks latter, 1/4 of the TV screen went out. When Best Buy showed with the new TV, they looked at the old one hanging on the wall and forced my wife and I take it down our selves...They cried about liability rules since they did not put up, but they did not build the wall either....seems a method to sell their install team and bracket.

I had Best Buy install a TV in St Pete Beach when we lived there, and will never again do so. The install was so amateur (no wall plates for wires, just a chiseled out hole in wall, holes not cut to fit wall plate, just literally hammered a hole in wall, Two of 4 bolts in brackets pulled out within a week) that I had to redo including dry wall repair. Maybe I just had a terrible crew, I just wanted them out of my house!

The screen of my 94 year old mother's iPad went really dark. She couldn't figure it out. (Did I mention she was 94?). Took it to the Apple mini-store inside her local Best Buy. The Best Buy "Apple expert" told her it was probably overheated and she just needed to shut it down and let it cool down.

Ummm, what? She tried that to no avail and a few days later returned to Best Buy. The (or another, I'm not sure) "Apple expert" 20-year old told her it was irretrievably broken and she'd have to replace it.

I had another thought and walked her through it on the phone. Yup, sure as heck, she had inadvertently moved the screen's brightness slider down. Slide the slider back over and voila! Fixed!

Yeah- I wouldn't trust any Best Buy snot-nosed 20 year old with hanging my 60 pound 85-inch TV and "hope" they hit the 1.5 inch furring strips correctly for the mount. No way.
Amen to that. Too much of an investment to trust to anyone but an experienced AND reliable tradesman

Absolutely the best way. This way you are 100% sure that the mounting block is securely affixed to the wall and can see exactly how and where your tv mounting hardware will be secured

No, it just kinda karma-kismetted itself. Topic appeared, I had relevant experience to share (about BB's quality "experts") and chose to help out my fellow forum member by taking the time and energy to type out and share. Nice try attempting to pi$$ on that. Maybe get your MPW up above 25 and run another 26.2. I only have 5 under my belt, wanna discuss those also?

No, it is probably more like 70 pounds.

Then use the supplied anchor screws from the TV mount. Should take around 30 minutes total if you have the materials and tools. If it's a newer TV, likely is less then 60 pounds. My Samsung 75" is about 30 pounds. Good luck.
