Default LAN Fan with problem

Just moved from Amelia to St. James. Left Comcast and picked up CenturyLink. Love fiber!! Much happier with the speed/price, BUT, having a duce of a time getting my stuff to talk to each other. Have a wifi printer that is online, but neither of my iMac's will talk to it, and a wired printer to one iMac that the other iMac used to be able to print from. Called CenturyLink and they said that their obligation was to get reliable internet access to me, which they've done in spades. I love a minimum of 9.6 Mbps download, not too happy with the .76 Mbps upload but can live with it. Well worth the tradeoff from Comcast that never could give me the speed I was paying for. So, anybody out there have Apple experience with a LAN that used to work? Oh, yeah, I went from an ancient router that worked to a ZyXEL router that I can't even pronounce, that gets me to the internet but that's it. HELP? Please either reply here or PM me. Thanks!!

Just a guess, but maybe your new router has a different encryption scheme than your old Comcast unit. My stuff is PC-based, but I have one Canon wi/fi printer working on Comcast at the condo and another on Century link at The Villages. I seem to remember that I had to hunt around in the printer's wi/fi menus to find the right way to connect with my LAN password.

I'm guessing that the router you have is one that Century Link supplied, if so it is likely rented from them.

I went to Best Buy and purchased NetGear router. There are instructions on TOTV as to how to manually configure it (a 2 minute job). It works fine so I then returned the Century Link router.

Your printers will probably work with the router, if not NetGear should help with technical support.

You have 30 days to return the router to Best Buy if you are not satisfied.

Thanks! Still working the problem, and may need to replace the router, but hope not. Thanks again, and if there are any more suggestions, please share them!
