Default Laptop hinge

Hubby would like me to ask if anyone knows where he could get a laptop hinge repaired in/near TV. Thanks!

Try MMD computer. They are on the left side of 441, just south on 466. (traveling south)

FYI....hubby went to the MMD place and it was going to cost $70 for labor plus repairs. Decided he could live with it the way it was until he can get a new one.

If it's like my Dell Inspiron, two hidden screws came out at the lower right edge of the screen. I gently preyed up the silver surround, it pops off in several spots. I found the loose screws, one for the hinge itself and the other for the cover (that one was under a rubber cover). I screwed them back with a jeweler's screwdriver and some locktite on the threads. Then I pressed the cover back into place and stuck the rubber cover back on the exposed screw. Took about a half hour from when I started pulling the cover back. Good as new.

TV Computer Club meets on Fridays at 1 pm at the Hacienda CC near Spanish Springs. They invite nonmembers (guests) to bring your problems and they will offer their expertise advice.

At first there's a meeting and usually the topic is announced in the Daily Sun and around 3pm they will take questions and/or issues to help resolve.

At Markets of Marion, near the front entrance, there is Herb Olmstead who does computer/laptop repairs; he is there on weekends, and you can just take a computer in and he will evaluate it; he has been in business, retired from corporate world computer work, for a long time; his ph # is 352-216-5034, where you can call him anytime. Very nice, reasonable and knowledgeable; and will do a free estimate on computer repairs.
