Default Touchscreen Laptop

I really don't want to recommend one over another.

It's up to you: what do you want to pay, what screen size do you want, do you want a DVD Drive, what amount of memory do you want, what size drive?
The prices start at around $400 for a 15" screen and DVD Drive.

I would choose a name brand to start with. Then I'd try the keyboards to see which ones were most comfortable. (Yes, I know you're buying a touchscreen, but keyboards are important too.)

You'll love the touchscreen!

Windows 8 and 8.1 was designed for touchscreen technology in mind. For computers without touchscreen capabilities, programs such as "Classic Start", "Star Dock" are available to rectify this minor inconvenience. We even have a blog on our home website which describes in detail about the Windows 8 star menu near the bottom of the page:

I solved my problem by getting an Acer laptop with Windows 7 from Wal-Mart online for $475. I loaded it up and it is working great.

No Windows 8 in my future ... yet.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Had win 8 , loved it until I went to 8.1 , lots of aggravation and problems kept happening, hired tech and he reset it back to 7. Someday, after my nerves calm down, I will go back to 8 .
