Considering switch to T Mobile. How is your signal strength and reception in The Villages. Live near 466A. Currently a Verizon user.

I too considered t-mobile. Felt national service was too spottyLooked into Consumer Reports. They liked A I O. . Aio Wireless

AIO is owned by ATT. Uses their towers. I own my iPhone. Service is $55 a month unlimited texts and calls, 2G data. May switch to $40 plan that has $250 mg. This includes all taxes and fees and no contract.

We had T-Mobile when we first started coming to T.V. I would have to leave the house and make calls from my driveway... no bars inside the house. I now have Verizon with no problems. Our place is in the Village of Poincianna. Not a fan of T-Mobile.

Default T-mobile viability

I am a T-mobile customer, and have been for the past 12 years. I love T-mobile. I will soon be moving from up by Nancy Lopez to near 466A.

I have problems with reception near my home here (rental), but hoping for a better signal the further south I move (to a house I am buying).

When I spoke with T-Mobile representatives, they recommended installing a signal enhancer, which they can provide, for a fee, (or you can get one from Best Buy, or others, but T-mobile will let you return at no expense if it doesn't work.

T-mobile has very good rates, and outstanding customer service. I plan on staying with them, even if I have to use the signal enhancer. IF, however, I get lousy coverage (which I hope I don't) I will be forced to change to a provider I do not want to do business with.

Remember, NO committment with T-mobile and 2 year commitment with everyone else.

I recommend you contact T-mobile, and express your concern about coverage, and see how they respond, and how supportive they will be to return the signal enhancer, if you choose to give them a try.

Good luck to you.

Default T Mobile cell service is awful at best

T Mobile Cell service is awful at best. We live in the village of Caroline and couldn't rely on it at all inside our house or even outside. But almost everyplace we went in The Villages it was awful. I had to get rid of it and switch to AT&T which is significantly better I get 4G service most places. T Mobile would tell us the towers were just too far away for good service. Coverage maps would list our area as satisfactory but smoke signals would work better. BTW I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone. If you don't want a 2 yr commitment get a AT&T sim card from Walmart Straight talk and put it into your phone (assuming it uses the same frequencies as AT&T) It cost $45/mt with unlimited everything and no commitment - worked great for me.

I've had T-Mobile since 2002. I do occasionally step outside in my lanai if the signal inside the house gets weak. However, I have no problems outside or throughout The Villages. I am in Amelia, near 466a.

we just moved in 3 weeks ago and we had T-Mobile for years. It did not work in our villa, or the surrounding area, we are in Pennecamp. We had no service what so ever. We were told Verizon had the best reception here in the villages so that is what we switched to. We have no problems with them and T-Mobile did release us from our contract with no cancellation fees due to the lack of service.
