For those who doubt the difference. It's obvious why I have problems doing virtual meetings from my patio.

A single router *can* work but home construction, router signal strength, and frequency choice has a lot to do with those differences.

I just ran speedtest in the four corners of my home plus out on my lanai. I had one measurement at 170Mbps, three at 150Mbps, and one at 122 Mbps. The measurement at 122 was in a location where the signal had to go through two walls instead of one.

My home does not have pre-fab interior walls. I suspect if the signal had to go through concrete it would be significantly degraded.

Frequency choice matters too. If you want the highest speeds you have likely chosen to use the 5GHz band. That band is great for speed but terrible at penetration walls and bad for distance. Moving to a room farther away in the home where the signal has to go through a concrete wall could explain the 500Mbps -> 75Mbps drop. The 2.4GHz band would fare much better and *might* even be able to achieve the higher speeds.

One router can work but based on home construction and frequency choice, your results may vary.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.
