Default Verizon Broad band Access

In preparation for spending Sept. and Oct. in TV, I signed up for Broadband Access 5GB with Verizon. I have the $60 a month plan. I have no idea how much 5 GB's is so how will I know when or if I go over that amount, and have to pay extra? Typically, I check my e mail a few times a day, and of course I am on TOTV much of the day.

I would appreciate any information about what 5GB's looks like in terms of time or something else that I would be able to relate to.
Thanks Md Blondie (clueless in Maryland) :dontknow:

blondie, I was once training a new employee and I explained to him that there were 500 sheets of paper in a ream and 10 reams on each box, then I ask him how many sheets should be in a box??? He rolled back his eyes, look a my with an empty expression and said: A LOT (true history, his training and employment ended right there).
I dont know what 5GB his but I am sure is: A LOT

5gb is speed and is about half the speed of comcast cable internet which costs about $43 over the cost of cable TV -- on cable your time would be unlimited -- 5 gb is more than adequate for e-mail and message boards, it is fairly fast and your time is probably also unlimited -- FWIW -- enjoy it -- Lucko

efrahin and Lucko,
Thanks for trying to help---I am still confused but I will probably understand a little better when I get my bill for the first month.
I'll let you know how I do.

I am not a techie but I don't think the 5gb offereing is speed as described by lucko. To be speed related, you need a time variable. The offering that Verizon has is a 5gb cap per month of download. For instance... 5 gb of mp3 files of music would be the equivelent of about 1000 to 2500 tracks, depending of course on their size. About 1250 - 7 megapixel pictures would equal about 5 gb. Hopefully this will help.

ATT:Ooper -- You are right, At 4 a.m. with a bad tooth, I had brain fade -- I was talking 12Mbps speed on cable and unlimited gb downloads -- still, that should be plenty of gb -- the better phone speed from Embarq in TV was about 5Mbps last winter and I guess I did not know anyone limited your down loads in this internet age --Sorry about the confusion -- Lucko
