Web cam problem
I recently purchased a used computer tower for temporary use (need it for approx. 8 months). The installed operating system is Windows XP Home and the installed browser is Windows 8.
My problem is this: When I attempt to access the Sumter Landing web cam I get the following message in the screen area: "The Activex Camera Control which enables you to view live image streams in Microsoft Internet Explorer could not be registered on your computer". I have tried almost everything to resolve this issue but cannot find a fix to bring up the actual live stream. Does anyone have any recommendations? I will certainly appreciate your help. I have 2 other computers with XP Home and Windows 7 and both of these work fine?

At the bottom of the Lake Sumter web cam is a link to the Spanish Springs web cam, click on that link. Now you will again get the message to install Active-X. Now click on the bar to install Active-X and you should be good to go.
For some reason the install works on the SS cam but not the LSL cam. In case you cannot get to the SS web cam here is the link but you may need to cut and paste the URL into your browser to make it work. http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_ss.asp |

Hawkwind:
This worked so easily and I thank you very much for your help. I would never have thought to use your recommended procedure but it was so simple that I was absolutely amazed. Thanks very much once again.
