Default Windows 7 not reading memory chip

Is there anyone on this board who uses Windows 7 - need help please.

I cannot download or get Windows 7 to recognize or read a memory chip.

However, I can get it to read a memory stick.

Two different cameras using different types of memory photo cards.

I am not getting the Import Box and cannot find any of the memory chip photos. I can, however, find my way around this mess to read the memory stick.

Any ideas please?

I would try your memory chip in another computer, if it works, just copy the photos to a usb drive and plug that into your computer. It may be a connector problem with your PC. Were you able to read this device before? There were a few physical configuration for the contacts on the various memory cards, so the other possibility is you have a card that is not compatible with your computer. Also, if the camera has a usb port, leave the card in the computer, and plug the cable into the camera and the computer. You should get a box asking if you want to import the photos.
Hope this helps.
