Default Abshier Construction

Does anyone have any experience with Abshier Construction? We are getting a quote from Steve Glasgow with the company for some major renovations/remodel and I am just wondering if anyone has positive or negative experience with this company. Thanks in advance for your help.

Very nice people there. Came to give me an estimate on a very simple cabinet, desk, and Murphy bed combo. We couldn't touch it....over $5K. Our problem.

They came on time, had the estimate on time. It was just the price I couldn't get my arms around. I'm still working with no "Golden Parachute" to fund the lifestyle which I would like to become accustome to!!!!

Default Abshier Construction

Steve Glasgow is in the process of finishing up enclosing our lanai and we have been very pleased. They are prompt and Steve follows up on the work.

Here's a second on price being a factor. I received several estimates and like their proposal - except for the price - where they were not in the ball park. They have since moved from 466 to LSL so I imagine their overhead is even higher.

we are also in process of getting quotes for sealing the tile floors. we heard about Jeff and Beth Couch but they don;t seem to answer the line. do you have any other names of reputable sealers?
thanks

I know that Abshier guarantees to beat any written estimate by 5%, we did that with our Murphy bed quote and they did a great job!

Abshier enclosed our lanai in February 2011 of course, and it still leaks to this very day. It is still under construction so to speak. They did cabinets for our office room and screwed those up and had to come back several times. They made a cabinet to enclose my tv in another room and it was the wrong size and had lots of other mistakes. In my opinion they are one of the worst companies we have ever dealt with.

Default Absher

I had problems with them in my kitchen. Alll I wanted were pullout drawers added to my cabinets. First order got lost after 3 weeks they told me I had no paperwork on file. They came back and measured again. following week got 2 drawers right and 2 draws wrong. Several days later came with 2 more drawers installed but the remainder were the wrong size. After the 3rd try they got it right. that's it for them as far as I'm concerned. Oh yea after 8 months one of the drawers has to be repaired, the bottom fell out only staples holding it in.. I'll handle it myself.

We think we have the leaking lanai fixed but not sure. Steve who is the construction part of Abshier came back many times to work on it. Abshier shelving and mirrors do the murphy beds and the cabinets but are still under one roof which is Abshier. That part is run by a different person all together. The place is confusing. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the lanai is finally fixed but this has happened many times before and it was still leaking. We wish we had never done it now. In our opinion they are way too pricey as well.

Default A Very Good Experience

Abshier did a $35,000 remodel for us and everything was top notch. Steve Glasgow was terrific to work with. Everything was completed on time, on budget and flawlessly.

Glad your experience was a good one. Ours wasn't. Wouldn't you be upset if your lanai was still torn apart and leaking for five months? We had our carpet ordered for it and everything since February. In our opinion we were very patient.

I knew it was too good to be true. We were hoping our lanai was done leaking but it's not. It is still leaking since their last visit here it rained today. Steve has tried several times but just can't stop it from leaking since February. All that money spent for nothing in our opinion. We don't know who to trust anymore. It is just my mom and I. She is 80 and in very poor health and I take care of her. We have only lived here for two and half years.

If anyone is following our story of our leaking lania since February. It still leaks. Abshier construction won't even return our calls now. They are just waiting for the guarantee to run out in our opinion. I have called Steve Glasgow many times and so has my 80 yr.old mother who cries when she calls him and he won't even respond to her. In our opinion we have really been taken. They should be ashamed of themselves.
