Default Adding a Golf Cart Garage

We are thinking about adding a Golf Cart Garage to our house. It is a Block and Stucco model. Has anyone had one added to their house. Looking for some advise.
Thanks

Before u go too far into the process, u might want to check with the Villages authority to see if you have sufficient side yard clearance to construct one. I also wanted to add a Golf cart garage, but did not have the necessary clearances.

Thanks...I didn't think of that. Do know how much distance away from the property line the structure must be?

Agree with the above advice. Our neighbor is on a corner lot with a large side yard and wanted to add a golf cart garage. What he found out was that there was a utility easement than ran across his side yard that prevented him putting a golf cart garage where he wanted it. He had to change the size of the garage and move it back along the house. He did get it done, but what a hassle.

So, please check with the Villages before you get too far along to make sure your property restrictions will allow it.

There is a house on Belle Meade Circle in Piedmont that has a corner lot and put his golf cart garage on the side opposite his real garage. His cart entrance runs across the front yard to get to it. I thought it was unique and looks good. There is also an Amarillo ranch in Springdale that put his golf cart garage on the courtyard side of his garage (away from the outer boundary).

I would assume both of these owners had to get approval from the architectural committee.

So there are options.

There are not really too many options if the owner has side yard infringements on all sides of his house. Best to go down to the Villages and check your individual home before you go too far. I have a corner lot in Bonnybrook and wanted to add a golf car garage next to my regular two car garage. I thought with all that side yard clearance it would be no problem. Wrong!! I don't have the necessary side yard clearance on either side.
