INSTALLATION COMPLETED DECEMBER 1
On Monday November 28 we Were told "it will take a couple more weeks" (before iinstallers could be at our home) after phone calls back and forth, Decemer1was agreed on. I'm guessing someone else got bumped. However I'm happy with the workmanship and product. Our salesman, or sonic H UPDATE We are scheduled to get our lanai enclosure installation on Thursday December 1. I will update this post on Thursday er research and due diligence, we selected CENTRAL FLORIDA WINDOWS AND DOORS to enclose our courtyard villa lanai. We paid a deposit ON 11/1/16. CFWD sent us the plans on 11/6 and I took them to TV Architectural review office. They were approved the next day. I forwarded the approval to CFW&D the same day, November 7. Our Rep replied to my email giving us a construction/installation date of 11/23/16 p. I expressed my disappointment at the wait time. Today CENTRAL FL WINDOWS is NO SHOW , and worse, no call from CFWD.At 10:20 a.m. I called them. We were told apparently, CFWD are required to submit engineering drawings to the county for approval. A neighbor used this company recently, and that was not required on her courtyard villa such as ours. If this is now the case, why was this not learned by CFWD until the day before installation of our doors? With a 3 week lead time this new regulation should have been known. Am I their only customer in Sumter county? The implication is a county permit is now required with subsequent inspection.Again I expressed my disappointment and frustration to our sales Rep. It is unconscionable that we were not given the simple and basic courtesy of a phone call from him when the county's new requirement was made evident to CFWD. Instead we were left in the foolishly innocent expectation of a crew arriving any minute. In the meantime CENTRAL FLORIDA WINDOWS AND DOORS, have enjoyed the benefit of our money, while we have nothing. If it were the custom to tip, there would be none given. Our sales rep is to call me next week.... I will continue to update our progress, and/or lack thereof. Last edited by Boudicca; 12-01-2016 at 01:21 PM. |

Good to know, Fraugoofy. I told the Rep who is a Villages resident that I would be posting on TOTV. 100 people read my post yesterday . I reposted the message today to keep it current. That's a lot of future customers who might think twice about using Central Fl.

There is a very consistent pattern on many posts about contractors. I have never paid a contractor any money in advance. A successful contractor should be able to fund all, or at least the initial part, of the project. I just wouldn't want to do business with a company that is so underfunded that they need money in advance.
