Default Cabinets

I need to have the cabinet over the refrigerator made smaller. Any one know a contractor who can cut the cabinet down.

Is this to clear a new fridge. If so the cabinet can be raised.

Smile Problem is the door

Cutting down the cabinet is no problem but cutting down the door takes someone who knows what they are doing and may cost alot. If the cabinets are from a newer home you might be able to get the make and model of the one you have and buy a replacement. We have in our many moves replaced the fridge often, As I like the tall counter depth ones better than those that stick out in the room. We have when we couldn't get a matching cabinet installed a shelf of matching wood above and used it for vases and the like that would look nice. Just a thought.

You can take the cabinet off and mark the difference you want to shave off and get a sanding drum and put it on a drill and remove the 1/4 to 1/2 inch you need and rehang the cabinet. There is enough free space on the bottom of the cabinet to do this. The hardest part is making sure you sand or cut the line evenly. Clamps and a guide will help.

It can also be done with a saber saw.

Correction: My neighbor WAS going to do this but decided to just put the cabinet on top of the refrigerator so he could easily get to it. He said he would do the trimming if he ever decides to sell.
