Question Cable TV and Internet

Is Comcast the only provider for Internet and cable TV? They don't seem to be offerring any promos and the price is about $60 for internet and $70 for TV. Is this correct? No DVR, I guess I have to get Tivo?
Any help would be appreciated, I move in Oct 22

Wow, that price for internet is insane. I really don't like Dish or DirectTV, but at Comcast prices, I would take another look.

Since we're there only part time, I signed up for the "minimal" Comcast package of some 20 channels for $12 and the lowest speed internet for $25 .

Total is $37 plus tax or whatever, comes out to $40 a month or so.

I had dish network installed today from Embarq and it is only $89.00 for the first year. That is with local, unlimited long distance and internet. You get HBO and Starz free for 3 months. I had Embarq for internet and phone and Comcast for cable and it ran me $158.00 a month. Even after the second year, which is $125.00 it is still cheaper. I am very happy with it. I have it on 4 TV's.

Comcast internet price is about $42 and Various cable packages run from maybe $30 on up. With Comcast you also have a subscription to thevillages.net, a $6 a month value that allows you to access the on-line tee time system.

Default Internet +

If you want fast, get comcast. Full internet, digital, high def. and recorder comes to about $120.00 per month (no phone or extra HBO etc. included) Also can be turned off or put on vacation rate when you are not in The Villages. FWIW -- Some areas of The Villages can't get a strong enough dish signal for internet, but it is a street by street problem. Welcome to TV.

there was a post a couple weeks ago where people said that comcast is offering their double play (2 services) for $66/month or triple play (tv,phone, internet) for $99/month.

Default comcast or embarq

Finally we are going to TV. As soon as we find the house we want. Can anyone advise which service is the least posionous of the two: Comcast or Embarq. From what I have heard Comcast has the worst customer service; (I am used to that, we have Cablevision). Embarq offers only the Dish. ?????
We are planning to go this Oct 14-18, any advise will be appreciated. We spent last December there, but this is serious now.

Default Cable/Internet

We took the phone/cable/Internet package from Comcast. It was $99 for first year. However, because I wanted the house wired with wireless network and wanted DVR it turned out to be $133/month. I didn't think that was too bad for all three. So far the service has been good and we are happy. We moved in two weeks ago.
