Can anyone recommend a good company for bundled homeowner and car ins?
If not bundled, can someone make a recommendation for homeowner ins? My homeowner insurance went up by over 25% in 2 years. |

I have ASI (which is now Progressive) for homeowners and Allstate for auto. But, I don't think you can really depend on any insurance company to maintain consistent rates. If you have them long enough, they will raise your rate. I also don't think it is worth it to bundle homeowners and auto because I have found that the advertised saving is not what they say it is. Better to shop around on a regular basis if you want to save money.

We contacted 5 insurance agencies 9 months ago. Our best rates and coverage came from Dees Insurance Group in Sarasota (941-306-4524). We have home and car with them, and their customer service is first rate. Make sure you have a wind mitigation statement for your house. That will save you a lot.

I cut my bill just about in half by going over to Triple A...exact same coverage that I had too Have had them now for two years....no problems (but then again, no claims either) They also take a credit card (with no additional fee) and my card gives me 2% cash back |

The trick with insurance coverage pricing, is that many insurance companies will escalate your price slightly greater than the rate of inflation. Now you won't notice it at first, because sometimes the first year renewal is lower, but you will notice that over time, your current policy is higher than the original policy plus the rate of annual inflation. This increase means that they are creating excess economic profits over the initial sale, which is why companies focus on customer retention so much. As a consumer, your best bet is to shop your insurance coverage every three (3) years to get back to the current new policy rate.
Yes, I have done product insurance pricing in my financial career, and watched the actions and the results. A 1% increase over the rate of inflation creates a 5% premium to the marketplace in 5 years. . . . ![]() ![]() sportsguy |

We have had State Farm since 1984 or 1985 and have home, car and life insurance through them. We have had a few claims, auto accident and house storm damage, and they were easy and fast to work with. I have had other companies give us quotes to see if we could get cheaper coverage but I guess we have been with them so long that no company could come close to our rates.
