Default Cell Phone Question

My wife and I are still part timers until April. We use Sprint as our cell phone company. Their coverage is great here in Ohio, but when we visit TV the reception is very spotty and we have to go outside to make a call. Since our contract is up shortly, I was wondering which companies get the best reception in TV?
Thanks

I would strongly suggest Verizon. We had the same problem and do not with Verizon. You can port over your same numbers and not have to inform everyone of the change.

Cool Verizon worked for me ...

We are leaving TV today, but while we were here (one week), we picked up a Verizon pay-as-you-go at Walmart. Seems Verizon has about the best signal, around TV. However, I purchased a VirginMogileUSA MiFi unit [for internet access] that uses the Sprint data network. I had fantastic reception in TV with that. Although, data reception seems to be a bit more forgiving than voice communications.

Finally, I think reception has about as much to do with your phone, as it does the signal strength. Some phone just have better antenna's.

Have fun in TV!

Default Cell Phone

I have both the Sprint/Nextel and Verizon. The Sprint is my work phone and the Verizon is my family phone. I must say I have much better coverage with the Verizon than the Sprint/Nextel. In fact, the Sprint/Nextel will run out of battery life by mid evening because it is always looking for a signal. Where my Verizon I charge maybe once a week.

When we become full timers, Verizon is coming with us.

Default Cell Phone

We also have Verizon and it works very well in TV. Every so often we update the phone programming and roaming capabilities. Its free and easy.

WE have NEXTELL and service has been great. In fact just look at most of the Contractors in the area adn they use NEXTELL. Even though Sprint and NEXTELL are now the same companty theys till use different towers and technolgies to provide telephone service. The Sprint Hybyrd telephone that uses sprint for telephone service and nextell for Direct Connect is terrible.

Look at the service maps for Sprint and Nextell..just type in 32162 and switch betwen sprinit and Nextell Voice devices and you can readily see the difference. 3G and 4G devices appear to have pretty good coverage with either service.

At Turtle Mound 466A & Buena Vista the water tower has Sprint & Verizon, as a tower contractor Verizon has the best coverage and the best network but you have to pay for more for it. According to Clark Howard, Straight Talk is a pay as you go plan that uses verizon network and is fairly inexpensive.

I have T-Mobile and the service is fine in big cities in Florida but terrible everywhere else, esp. the center of the state. I think they are waiting to be bought out by another company so network upgrade/system expansion isn't a priority.
