Cell Phone Services
Does anyone in TV have experience 9good or bad) with PureTalk Cell Phone Service? I am getting tired of $50/Month for minimal use of my current carrier and am trying to find inexpensive service that works.
Thanks,

PureTalk works fine for us. Have used it for about a year now and find the customer service to be excellent and the clarity of the service very good and we could keep our established cell phone number wherein they conveniently handled the transfer.
The difference from using our former provider, Verizon. is that PT is a "prepaid" service for which one needs to realize that each call is costing you minutes, although very low rate/min yet this is not for one who prefers to have long chats via the cell. Our cell phone is used when we leave the house at any time. We use our Comcast monthly phone provider for all calls from home that are free throughout the USA and Canada and one is not committed to a contract. The phone service is bundled into the television and internet services with Comcast. See the PureTalk advertised on this website. ......b

Barb, what about texting? I didn't see anything on their website about it being included or having additional costs. Made me wonder if there was something about their network that made texting not possible (can they do that?)

I bought a TracFone, which is a pay as you go. I am not a big user so it probably costs me around $125 per year. Look for a sale at WalMart.

For some strange reason, my browser wouldn't open the website from their ad here on TOTV, so I searched on their website address and got it. It's a win-win situation since very little $$$ are initially spent and with no contract one is able to cancel at any time if not satisfied with the service. Barb

Net10 Another Option
Wife and I use Net10... it works fine in The Villages. Texting is no problem on that service either. Have many, many minutes from the rollover each month. The choice of phones is not the greatest, but can't beat the cost of about $15/month/phone.
