Default Cheaper gasoline

Just went by the new Murphys gas station on 466 and they are open and the price today for gas is 2.99. About .14 cheaper than the other two on 466.

Yes, competition for our three Shell stations. I hope it produces price wars.

You have to be careful out there with these signs, noticed several stations on 441 near Fruitland were advertising low fuel prices, but when you pulled up to the pump, a little hand written note was there advising you if you use a credit card, it will add 6 to 7 cents to the price.
One customer in the station really got into it with the store manager, accusing him of false advertising, I have to agree.

Hope the prices at the Colony Plaza Shell come down. Last I heard, their prices were setting the pace for "outlandish"! Regardless, we'll find out when we get down there again in a few weeks!!!

I read the first post and went to Murphy's after going to WalMart. Yep, $2.99 does beat the others. I did notice the 2 Shell stations on 466 both dropped prices to $3.05.

What is the least you have EVER paid for gasoline? Search those remaining brain cells! I can remember Sunoco 190 grade gasoline for 27 cents when I had my Volkswagen bug back in 1963. Fill the tank for $2.70.

I recall paying 18.9 cents a gallon in 1964 at a Gulf station.
The Shell by Colony was $3.19 a gallon around noon. Sams was $3.02.

Yeah....wonderful. mitchbr47 posted it was $3.19 today at noon. Wonder when this current Shell owner will fold?

Hope you had a safe trip back.........to the cold and snow!

In 1964 I was making about $2/hr (until I went in the Army and was making about 25 cents an hour); so gas was about 1/10 of and hour work per gallon.

At $3.20/Gal x 10 you would have to make $32/hr to be even with gas war prices in 1964.
Some do and some don't (most hourly workers in Fla; probably make around 1/4 of that) and some are retired not working for hourly wages.
