RS,

Based on neighbor recommendation, we used Dan Pope, Kwik Kerb concepts out of Ocala. Ours was a relatively small job (about 65 linear feet). Other companies had 100 ft minimums. Dan is a Marion County firefighter and this is his side business. Showed up when he said he would, did a super neat job, high quality materials, and price was reasonable....about $4/ft. Phone 352-266-0017. Highly recommend him.

We used All American Kwik Kerb, really good work and much less money per foot, really economical if you also do landscape. Good local people that do it all and do it very well. We used them last year in Duval and will use them this fall in Hemingway. He does the concrete and she does the landscaping. Get more than one bid anyway and look at some of their jobs in The Villages. "You will never be sorry that you paid for quality." Lucko

How many linear feet did you have done? It would seem there would be a volume discount and a smaller number of linear feet would drive up the price per foot since it costs a certain amount of money just to get to the job. What was your price per foot?

Exactly right Steve....ours was a small job and I expected the price per foot to be more than a "full yard" job. The first outfit that we contacted quoted closer to $600 for 100 ft minimum; actually, I also called this American Kwik Kerb but the guy twice cancelled out on coming out for an estimate, so, I moved on to Dan Pope.

"Kwik Kerb" is a product/franchise...I agree with Lucko that they have a good product/quality.

So if I were to do 150' or so, I could expect that price to be under $600? That's good enough for my estimating, if it sounds right.

unfortunalty we do have to charge a minimum which we dont go by the foot the minimum amount is $300.00 for curbing unless you bundle it all up with landscaping
Don't know anything about these guys, good or bad, but I strongly recommend the stamping and sealing. Stamping comes in several choices and really adds character to you concrete. I spent about $7K on landscaping and everyone who passed by the house wanted to talk about the neat curbing.

Well worth the investment.

My friend just had Dan Pope of Ocala and what a beautiful job. I plan to use him in the near future. Very reliable and real nice work.

A "heads up!"

Keep the curbing away from palm trees (at least 3-4 feet). The palm tree roots will eventually cause the ground to heave and the curbing will crack.

Default Beware of paradise landscaping service

You say a picture is worth a thousand words, you are correct. We just finished paying Paradise Landscaping $2000 to install a concrete border and stone along with some shrubs. The job as "Gretchen" the owner informed us was to only take at most two days--it took 5 with alot of prodding. We paid her 1/2 upfront and the balance on the last day, but at the last and it looked like they were going to finish the job though LATE into the evening. She asked for final payment, said she was running short of stone for one side of our home, and that "she would be back 1st thing Monday morning to finish--I promise."

Monday- no Paradise or Gretchen, and still another week and no Paradise, so finally I returned to Florida and made seven (7) calls to her firm and her and she failed to return any of our calls. Only when issued a slight threat of enforcement did she finally return my eight call. Now a neighbor of mine that used her and had similar problems with tardiness said "she'll give you every excuse in the book as to why she and her firm can't do something or aren't going to be on time, and the first excuse will be that she just got back from a cruise and hadn't gotten any of your messages, and damn sure if that isn't exactly what she told me first out of her breath on the phone.

I told her her excuses were falling on deaf ears, and her reputation was beginning to follow her and her firm. I informed her that if my job wasn't finished by this Tuesday at 4pm I'd post information about her firm on the Village Blog and internet, and I have the photos to prove her unfinished work, besides all four of my neighbors will testify to the same in court--so there is NO slander here my Village friends.

If you wish to see the photos of PARADISE LANDSCAPING that remains still to this day undone go to: www.acquisitioninstitute.com or go to http://arx9968.tripod.com/id51.html to view what kind of real trustworthy work that Paradise can do for you....Buyer beware!
