Default Emergency lighting for rentals

I need to have emergency lighting installed for my patio villa before I begin renting it. Any recommendations on the best kind to use and/or who can install it would be greatly appreciated.

On the inside of the house like they have in hotel rooms. From what I understand it is a requirement along with a fire extinguisher and a few other things. Have any other owners who rent out their houses heard differently?

Those that choose to rent with the Villages rental program are required to have the lighted exit signs installed. I don't believe that it's a requirement of other rental agents.

It is an emergency light that is over front door, on the I side. Not an actual exit sign. We were told it was a state law if you rent out your home. I don't know where to get one, However

The Quantum Dual light are easy on the eyes and look unobtrusive.

We have been informed that as of 01-Oct-2012 the lights are mandantory.

2012 Florida Statutes.
.........Title XXXIII
............Chapter 509
.................Section 242
....................Sub ( c ) Vacation Rental

Was told ...if you inform the public the home is for rent...
( i.e. you advertise it for rent in ANY fashion)...and....
...if you are required to pay the State sales and use tax, you must comply.
Tax must be paid on all rental/lease of 6 months or less.

Thank you so much...I will look into that type and call Lenhart Electric. I'm assuming they'll know where it should go, etc.
Also, we are aware of the sales tax both state and county. :-) We have vacation homes in both Lakeland and Kissimmee where the tax in 12% and 13%. It seems like Sumter county is a bargain....We also have the emergency lighting but it was already included when the Kissimmee house was built in 2001. So I wasn't sure if it was a county or state law. Thanks for clarifying. Is there a rule as to where the fire extinguisher and the house plan should be kept. I know they are required too.
Thanks so much for any tips you can give us. Even though we are experienced with short term rentals in other counties we know things can be different in TV so we don't want to assume anything. :-)
