Default Granite and tile installation

We recently had granite countertops installed in our kitchen and bathrooms and backsplash tile work in our kitchen. We went with the recommendation of the granite supplier and contacted Jonathan Moody to do the work. Initially, things went good but, apparently he took on more than he could handle, and service was terrible. He was also supposed to do our tile work but subcontracted it out after several calls from us. Apparently, he was not up front with the subcontractor and he complained that the job he accepted was not as represented. Ian Prelop was the person who did the tile work and, although he appeared to know what he was doing, his help did not. Would strongly advise all to stay away from these two!

Good idea to find a cutter/installer first, and then go shop for granite at the places he recommends. Searching this forum for recent recommendations and then private messaging those people to ask questions will land you with a good installer and granite source.

Keep in mind that not all granite is equal. So starting with looking for the granite at different places could lead you astray. Some granite from third-world countries could emit elevated radon, some from China could be cut thinner than normal, some from Russia... well, our cabinetmaker told us that Russia used to blast tunnels through their mountains using nuclear bombs. THIS LAST PART IS HEARSAY!!
