Question Landscaper needed

Just moved into Village of Sanibel 3 weeks ago. Looking for a "good" honest and affordable Landscaper.

First of all,

Welcome to The Villages, and

Welcome to TOTV!

You will learn heaps so long as you pay 'ttention here!

I think that most would agree: you need to be super cautious with landscapers.

First of all, have a pretty good idea of what you want, especially whether it will suit Central Florida's environment (drought-resistant, frost-resistant, among other criteria).

Second, never, ever, give the landscaper anything major in the way of a "deposit." Suggest that you keep any so-called deposit at no-more-than 25% of the bid's quoted total cost.

Third, do not provide a final payment until you are 100% satisfied with what has been provided to you!

Sadly, many landscapers have earned a negative reputation here in The Villages. However, there are many whose reputation is "perfect." It is a matter of careful research, however.

I frankly won't provide any personal suggestion because of the elapsed time since my first landscaper and that of my last!

Thumbs up Landscaper recommendation

I completely agree with swrinfla about being wary of certain "so called" landscapers in the Villages. Unfortunately they have hurt many people by claiming to be a good landscaper and just have a truck< trailor< and a mower. Theres more to it than that. I 100% recommend KGL Landscaping for all your new landscape rennovations. They have been there from beginning to end and then some. They will take care of you for years to come and can answer all your landscaping questions. If you want their number you can pm me for more info. I have trusted them even though I have been here a few years I am new to talk of the Villages. They are who you want to call. Welcome to the Villages. I'm sure you'll love it like we love it!!!

Mansfield did one on my block on Evinston and is dong mine now. The owner is Steve. I think he is awesome. His crew caught a mistake another company made and saved us some heartache later. You can see their work if you drive by on Evinston Ct. we will be happt to talk to you. When he is done I will post before and after pictures.

Mansfield has been around for over 20 years and has a nursery you can hand pick your plants. He know his business. Check it out.

I used Sabrina MacGowan too. Sabrina, her husband Patrick and their workers were fantastic! They have a very good reputation in the Villages. Check out their website at S.McGowan Landscape & Design - Home.

Smile McGowans

Just had landscaping done outside our birdcage on corner of St. Charles Pl. and Dove Hollow Run. McGowan's did a beautiful job! Sabrina, Patrick and their crew were very professional. Would highly recommend them.

We just hired Village Palms after interviewing and getting several plans and estimates. Check out their nursery on Rt 466 on the right before Rolling Acres Rd.

Default Another vote for Sabrina and the Gang

We used McGowan's Landscaping to do our front yard last year and have them scheduled for March 12 to do the back yard. Great group to work with and pricing was very good. We can't wait til the 12th to see them work their magic...........

Default Outstanding

We just had work done by Custom Scapes in Fruitland Park. Everyone who has seen the job has asked who had done it. The owners (Lance and Sarah) are wonderful to work with. They are on time, stand by their work, and completely professional in every way. Their crew was amazing, as well. Prices were very good, and I will call them for any future work I need. Happy to show our new garden, if interested. Contact us by email. Good luck!!

I have to agree with others on McGowan. Very good ,reasonable. Patrick is just down to earth with no BS. Workers are very good. They listen to your requests and work with you. Good follow up also.
