Default Drawer/Cabinet Knob Installation (Who?)

We've purchased the hardware but need someone to install the knobs on our cabinetry. I've heard that someone uses a jig type fixture to ensure exact location on each installation. Any suggestions? And yes I could do it myself but....

I am the least talented home repair/carpenter in the universe but I successfully installed knobs on all our drawers and cabinets and they look great. At Home Depot they have a plastic green template that you can purchase and it is perfect for use with a power drill to ensure that you are placing the knobs at the same location in every drawer and cabinet. You might need longer screws for the knobs than are provided, but those are a cheap purchase at Home Depot. again, I did it and they look fine and I have no talent for this. Good luck.

If you decide to do it yourself. For the doors. take any container with a square corner that you can cut two sides off of. . I used a plastic one I had in the bin but anything will do. measure carefully and drill the hole in the first door. Push your containers corner up on the door and drill from the back of the door through the container. Now you can put this on every door and use the hole as a pilot so they all come out the same. Did that make sence. The jig that you mentioned can be bought online and Home Depot has one but I found mine easier to use. Just me. This is my 5th total house remodel and my last I hope.

If you can wait until August, my husband has the tool that spaces the knobs.

I did mine with the same jig from Home Depot somethings you may need also a drill with bit ( I ask at home depot for the size) and on the drawers you will need longer screws as there is two boards to go through I also put the sameones in the bath rooms the whole thing take me about 1/2 hour.
Good Luck you can do it

Default Too Many To Do

I've got 44 to install. Got the cordless drill out and battery won't charge. New battery 39-49 bucks. New 24 volt 1/2 " drill at Sams $42 out the door. Cordless screwdriver same thing. What a crock. Another $20. Again - cheaper to buy new than replace battery. So what I've got invested so far would have probably paid for installation. Holy I could have bought some new crankbaits (fishing lures) or given Mrs "F" a happy Fathers Days gift. Maybe a 5th of Jack Daniels and a carton of cigs. Now I need to go get some longer screws. Somehow I feel as though I've already gotten them. Did I mention my fun meter is pegged?

Default Done!

Note: I had 3 yes 3 different size screws I had to use. Installed different knobs in bathroom that required 1 3/4" screws. I smashed fun meter with new drill.

Mrs "F" is happy making project worth price of admission.
