We used Dave's Carpet care.... he advertises in the Paper. He did a good job stretching in 2 carpeted bedrooms. It's been about 2 years and carpet is still taut. He also offered to do carpet cleaning for a nominal fee while he was here. That was a pretty mediocre job.

So, good for the stretch...not so good for the cleaning.

He's done many, many houses in the Villages for a lot of years and knows what he's doing when stretching.

Ditto everything villages07 said.

Dave's number is (352) 217-5281. He priced the job for our patio villa quite a bit lower than another quote we received from another company. His guys used a power stretcher, not just a knee kicker - the power stretcher does a better overall job. Dave also said that if the wrinkles/ripples ever reappear, they'll come out and stretch those areas again.

We had our carpet stretched by them about two and a half years ago. No wrinkles, etc. have reappeared since then.

I have no connection or affiliation with Dave or his company - just happy with the work they did.

More often than not, it depends when the carpet was initially installed. Right now would be the ideal time, because the moisture in the air will help the carpet "relax", which will allow for maximum stretch. In winter, with dry air, the carpet will be "stiffer, and not so pliable making it much harder to stretch.
