Default Is Fertigator in trouble? No not really.

We've had Fertigator as our lawn, tree and shrub service for over a year now and have been mostly satisfied with their service. I called the office this morning to inquire as to why our grass was not cut last week. We were told that some of their crews had quit because it was too hot outside to be doing this kind of work (duh, it's hot in Florida in the summer) they said they were in the process of hiring some sub contractors to fill in and hoped that they could get to lawn sometime this week.

I think it might be time to start looking for other options, this sounds to me like the same path that Stellar went down that led to it's demise.

I hope it wasn't our crew, they are fantastic. They are coming today and we often say, don't cut with the intense heat until it gets too high but they always edge and trim where necessary.

Fertigator may be in trouble. One of my neighbors uses them and has been very happy with them until now. They are away but their lawn looks terrible, the worst one in the whole neighborhood (usually they have a nice looking lawn, so don't know what's going on). Large areas of dead black spaces. Fertigator won't return their phone calls. She has asked for the advance money she sent them so she could find someone else and they won't. She is now taking them to court.
Don't know if this is wide spread problem or just this one house.

They are here now and it's the normal crew working. The supervisor checked our sprinkler settings as June was the hottest month on record for some years. Seems we need to water 3 times a week this summer or the grass will go brown to black especially in newer areas with no topsoil buildup yet. Plants need less water so we adjusted accordingly. Our last lawn company was not so attentive. I hope they get things sorted out if some crews left them in a lurch as there seems to be good management otherwise. Lawns take a beating in the summer.

PS we requested a particular crew with them, so you can do that.

In the on going saga, I had scheduled a crew to come out today to trim the bushes between 8 and 10a. They were a no show, called the office and was told there was no way they could fit me in today, even though I had a appointment that had been arranged by them. Wound up speaking to Dave Stone, the manager, who blamed their poor performance of late on the heat and was told that we were free to look for another service if we wanted. This is looking like Stellar/Service Smart all over again. If you have Ferigator as your landscape service provider, be prepared to make a possible change.

I've used Fertigator for four years. No issues.

I've called them twice in the last couple of weeks for different items and they were very responsive.

With any contractor........labor is always a struggle, and difficult at times.

Default Good Experience with Fertigator Lawn Care

We had three different crews at our property yesterday, Monday, and everyone did their job courteously and professionally. We have "total care" so each of these crews had a different task and they did what they were supposed to do.

One of the crews was scheduled to come between 8 and noon. Late in the morning I did receive a call apologizing that they wouldn't be there until later in the day. They did come at the revised time stated in their call.

We have been satisfied with Fertigator Lawn Care and plan to continue using them. We have been with them for over 2 years.

Believe me, I don't want to lose Fertigator as our lawn service!! They brought our lawn back from the dead after it was destroyed by Stellar/Service Smart and it's now a healthy green lawn. I guess it easy to sit inside in the AC and wonder why they can't keep the staffing levels they need who will work outside in 100 degree heat. We did get an email from them yesterday;

Good morning,
The intense heat, has really hurt the productivity of our crews. So we have brought in a sub contractor to make sure we get everyone mowed and taken care of for the foreseeable future. DBS Outdoor Services operated by David Shank will be a reliable and honest member of the team. We apologize for any inconvenience. Extreme conditions call for extreme measures to ensure we maintain the quality of services we provide. All mowing will be cut by the end of the week. Any future problems or questions, Please Call

Glad to hear they are doing the right think by keeping their customers informed when problems arise. Things happen that can't be helped. I don't use them "yet" but I was thinking about it when I keep having so many problems with everyone else, but of course, when I heard about all their latest issues, I wasn't thinking about them any more. So, I'm very happy that they're working on these issues, they seem like a good company and good alternative to the rest of them.
