Default tree trimming

I need some advice. There is a man named brian who has been to my house twice wanting to trim my big oak tree in the front yard. Naturally i am scepticle and want to know more about him before i would hire him. Has anyone had any experience with a tree trimmer named brian? phone number 205-2326. Any info would be appreciated. He claims to be a certified arborist.

If you want/need your tree trimmed, I would suggest you contact someone yourself and run from anyone who solicits you. Sadly, The Villages' has many "service" type people who will ring your doorbell asking for work. Many times they are not a true professional, don't carry the appropriate insurance (which may affect you if they are hurt while working on your property) and, in general, will not do a good job and will not be around when you try to contact them to come back to fix something. Just something to think about.

This man gave me a address of a house a few blocks awayhehad trimmed a big oak in the front yard. I took a walk to see it. The tree looked bad. Couldnt even tell it had been trimmed. Now i remember that people are not supposed to be going door to door soliciting business. I hope he doesnt come back. Im all done with this guy.

I recently used Diamond Tree Service. They were GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
I originally read about them on TOTV. I highly recommend them. I will continue to use them in the future.

I also used Diamond Tree Service this past week to have queen palms removed (BIG northerner mistake!) and highly recommend them. Despite the large size of the palms, there was minimal impact on shrubbery and flowers in the rest of the garden. They even cleaned and raked the small debris and blew the drive and sidewalk to remove the remaining sawdust.

I was most impressed, however, with how safe they worked. They had spikes which enabled them to climb the trees but they also had safety harnesses rigged so in case they slipped, they wouldn't fall.

Because of a piece of equipment they coordinated with another job (to minimize costs) the removal of one palm was delayed for a day. We offered a partial payment after day one but the owner refused. He said he wanted to finish the job and assure we were satisfied before accepting payment.

I give them a big THUMBS UP.

I used Diamond Tree Service to trim my Live Oak. I live on the corner of Del Mar and Ventura. They did a great job. For a very reasonable price. Owner said when I am satisfied then I pay him. Come take a look!! Great Job.

Be careful and whatever you do don't pay in advance. Don't pay in advance. Dont pay in advance. Even if they appear to do work and when you inspect and they have still have work to do as proposed, don't pay until all the work is finished. They have hit our 84 yr old neighbor for $1200. They said they need to be paid up front for insurance reasons and all that but left in truck as soon as they got the check and did not return. Do not pay in advance. Funny stuff they came back to same neighbor looking for more work. We're trying to identify him.
