I would recommend Beck's Appliance Repair (352) 245-3598.
Rick has repaired my ice maker, washer, dryer and cleaned out my dryer vent. He does a good job, price is fair and he is reliable. |

The same thing happen to mine just the other day. Are you finding water in the bottom of your freeze that has frozen? Here is what I found....
In the rear portion of the ice maker (inside the freezer) you will find a small tube that delivers the water to the ice maker. Find the white little funnel just below that tube and make sure water has not frozen in that funnel. Mine was frozen with water which prevented water from going to the ice maker. Thus allowing the water to overflow the small funnel and run on to the floor of the freeze and freeze there. If you would like further help..... send me a private message with your phone number and I will walk you through checking it out. Take care, Gordy |

This is what I like about TOTVs. The helpful experiences and knowledge shared between Villagers. Gordy, that was very good information which I hope helps JMGR440 with his problem.

Thank you Gordy. I don't think is the funnel freezing because I've had the ice maker disconnected for almost a month. I changed the water valve at the bottom of the ref. and it worked for the first time and made ice but after that then water was comming into the ice maker every few minutes and that is when the water overflows.

Some water valves have an adjustment on them that controls the amount of water going to the cube tray. On your icemaker do you see a circle with a plus - minus on it. If so turn it to the minus and that will decrease the flow of water to the tray.

Are you sure it is coming from the ice maker? At home I had water leaking into the frig area and the water was turned off to the ice maker. What was happening is there is a heating element that will heat up enough to keep the frost from building up in the freezer. Under normal operation the water will drain to the base of the refrigerator into the holding pan and evaporate. What was happening was the water would build up in the top of the tube and freeze and the overflow would go into the refrigerator.
The fix was to remove the ice maker and back panel of the freezer compartment. Next a piece of 1/8" copper tubing 3 inches long was flattened and then bent into the shape of a ? mark. It was then hung over the heating element and the other end placed in the drain tube. The copper tubing will go down about and inch into the drain tube and is small enough not to totally block the water from passing. There will be enough heat from the tube to keep the water from freezing and everything will work properly. I watched the repair guy do this fix on my refrigerator up north and it has worked fine ever since. In your case you will first need to know exactly where the water is coming from. Good luck and keep everyone posted on your outcome. VG |
