Default Golf Cart Connection - Service

We were having some issues with our 18 month old rebuilt Club Car (sound of metal on metal grinding in one of the back wheels). I called Golf Cart Connection this morning seeking a service call. The service manager said first opening was on Friday. Yikes, 5 days without a golf cart...unacceptable.

So, I first called and talked to a manager in Mt Dora...still no satisfaction..."sorry, we're all booked up"; then found an email POC on their website. Sent them an email detailing this and prior issues with service and questioning why they didn't reserve some appointment slots for emergency problems. Also, I intimated that I would put a pointed post on TOTV detailing my experiences. This was not the GCC that I knew and promoted.

Well, got an email reply from the CEO being very apologetic for the lack of response. They do have an emergency triage process, but, the service manager was not hearing (or listening) to the symptoms I told him and thought it was a minor issue that could wait. I also got a call from the manager at the Summerfield store, also apologetic, and assuring me that a crew would come out today -- which they did and repaired the problem.

So, my faith in GCC is restored. Just be prepared if you call for service...non-emergency or routine maintenance may be deferred for a few days. But, if your problem is critical (car won't run, brakes failed, steering broken, etc) make sure they understand this so that you can get an emergency appointment within a day or two.

They are still a :#1: sponsor in my book.

They have been great for me, so I am glad they came through for you.
I guess as the Villages gets bigger, they get busier.

Very strange.... They were Johnny on the spot for the one item I contacted them about (non service affecting, too) and were at our house bright and early the next day and repaired the minor item and told us to call if we ever had another problem.

v07, glad to hear there are still companies that pay attention and follow through for their customers, KUDOS GCC. Although I don't know what POC stands for. I am curious, what did the problem turn out to be and was the cost of repair reasonable??* GN

Well, GN......that's an interesting twist. I started another thread on golf cart wear items.

It was a clearly worn thru brake pad on the right rear wheel...to the point it was gouging the drum. They went ahead and replaced the pads on the left wheel too. Cost for 2 sets of pads, 1 drum, and labor was $149. However, on that other thread, several TOTV posters questioned how the brakes could have worn like this so quickly unless perhaps they were installed wrong to begin with. Of course, the service techs did not admit to this (I did ask them these same questions) and they claimed that yes, brakes can wear down in a year or two. So, maybe I got ripped off...very hard to prove and for $149 still not sure if it's worth pursuing any further.

Don't feel too bad I too had to have rear brakes replaced and it included one drum which was gouged probably same as yours. However I don't know how long it was since the cart was converted (not a GCC cart) since I purchased cart used. Does sound like brakes can be a regular maintenance though, the price does sound like it's in the ballpark...GN

Default Golf Cart Connections - Service

Two days before Christmas I called Golf Cart Connections because my 1 1/2 yr old cart (not my avatar) almost didn't get me home from Glenview (I live in Mallory), and I thought there must be something wrong. They came out and picked the cart up the next day. They returned it the day after Christmas after replacing a bad battery. Charge? Just a nominal pick-up/delivery charge of $30. Great people to deal with!

When I was looking for a new cart I went there and they did not seem too interested to talk to me. So I left.
