Default Granite Countertops

We are interested in replacing our countertops in our villa with granite countertops. Can someone recommend the name of a store that has good prices on granite & installation? Thanks for the info!!!

I know they have good selections and good service at both Home Depot and Lowes.

I am sort of enjoying the vacation from wiping off my super shiny black granite (seems like hourly) that I have in kitchen and bathrooms up north.

Black granite shows everything. I would get a different color if I were to do it again. I love that you can sit anything down on it no matter how hot and cut on it and nothing hurts it. I love that it is so beautiful and truly eons old. We have had our granite for four years and haven't had to resurface it. It takes a wash with a clean soapy cloth and a wipe with a pristine dry one to shine.

Thanks for your reply, Gracie girl! Didn't think about the color black being a problem. I want to replace the grey countertops with something more colorful! We will definitely check out Home Depot and Lowes for their prices. Wanted to ask you, does the installation take very long?

We had granite countertops installed in our home in TV in January of this year. We went with All Star Granite. They advertise almost daily in the Daily Sun and their ads reflect the price for granite tops on numerous Villages models. Our price was actually a little less than advertised as the counters in our home were slightly smaller than the usual model due to double ovens.

The salesman will come to your home with samples. You can then proceed to their "shop" and see the actual slabs of granite. The shop is just south of Wildwood on 301. We picked out the granite at their site and it was installed within the same week we had the initial meeting with the salesman. The entire process from selection to installation was beyond our expectations and the finished product is perfect!

We had previously used Home Depot for installation of granite tops in our last home. While we were satisfied with the overall process, All Star was much more efficient and offered a better price overall. In addition, you deal with only one provider versus Home Depot who subs out the installation process.

We highly recommend All Star.

I agree that the big box home stores have different installers. We too used a granite only business up north. It took what seemed like forever and cost a lot of money. I am glad to hear that they are not afraid to advertise prices and can tell you how much for different models of homes. Sounds really perfect.

That is great to know, if we decide to switch from a very attractive (to me) synthetic.
