Last week I got a call from the rep. from Massey's who sold us our contract for pest control and lawn service. When he drove past our house he noticed that our lawn was very dry. He knew that shortly after the closing we had to return to New York and there wasn't much I could do from so far away. He said if I couldn't find anyone to check out our irrigation system, he'd do it for us.
I called a neighbor who has a key to our house and asked if he could check our irrigation controller. He didn't mind doing it but said our controller was different from his and he wasn't sure how it worked. He thought it best if someone familiar with our system went with him.
I called back the Massey rep. He said he wasn't too far from our house and he'd be happy to check it out. I gave him our neighbor's phone number. He called my neighbor, met him, found our controller settings were out of whack and set it up correctly.
Fantastic service. He didn't have to do any of this stuff but went out of his way to help out a customer.
I talked with my neighbor this afternoon and he said my lawn is looking great.
I know there are many pest control and lawn services to chose from but I'm very pleased that we chose Massey's. They really got me out of a jam.

Massey's is only as good as the rep for that area. Sounds like bluedog hit the jackpot. My experience has been more in the line of what Bogie has mentioned -- bad to awful to please oh please get rid of 'em!

Redwitch, you're absolutely correct. The rep is what makes a customer satisfied or not. In this one instance, the service was above and beyond.
I don't know if I like Massey's service or not, in total. I'm a rookie at this stuff. We just closed in March and were only in TV for a week following the closing. I talked with my neighbors and most of them use Massey and were pleased. That's why we chose them. If I'm not happy, out they go after a year.
I know for sure that there is no company that everyone likes. We're just keeping our fingers crossed about the choices we made.
