Default kitchen remodeling

Anyone have any recommendations for someone you have used to install kitchen cabinets? Guess that would also require getting rid of the existing stuff too. Sigh. Not sure I really want to go through with this. I just want it done with minimal fuss and expense.

Go to www.virginiatrace.com site and look at the list of "good services" and you will find contractors that others have used and recommend. If you go with granite, let me know who you used as I plan to do that later.

Do you plan on changing your floor plan or just wanting new cabinets? One of the first things I did was to change the doors and knobs on the kitchen cabinets. It totally changed the kitchen. It cost me about $500, as labor was free.

You may have other options.
If you like the layout of what you have, perhaps you might want to consider refacing your cabinets and just changing the countertop.

Much less expensive and less time and mess. Why throw away perfectly good boxes, which is what cabinets are??

If you do go with new, the old cabinets make great storage cabinets in the garage.......

I'm always looking for those "old" cabinets.......

I thought all of about 10 seconds about moving walls before I decided that once was enough. Life is too short!! My next plan was to do granite counter tops and new cabinet doors and keep the layout. Unfortunately there was a leak under the kitchen sink and the cabinet got warped so I think I probably need to change it. In any case, the estimate I got for the new doors was over $4K whereas new tricked out cabinets from IKEA were only about $3K. So-o-o ...

As for the granite, Lowes was going to do it but they wanted to be paid in full before they would begin any work. And they wouldn't even guarantee they would finish before we left! Instead I think I will use Duncan Stone in Tavares. We toured their yard and they have some beautiful stuff. They don't want any money until they finish and you are satisfied. All their work is done right there and we watched it being milled. I found them at vendor night at SS.
