Default Mattress Store

Can anyone recommend a reputable mattress dealer in the TV area?

I would love to know the answer to this as well. Purchasing a new mattress has become a somewhat daunting task. Another thing: I've never seen this many mattress stores concentrated in one area in my life!!!

Just be very wary of their return policy....

We bought a new mattress at Mattress Barn (441 North of the Villages) -- pretty good prices there. It turned out to be too firm. Took it back, chose another one....oh no, can't give you sale prices. Cost another $500 to 'replace' the mattress and really not that happy with the replacement. It's an Englander brand and has a lot of peaks and valleys in it. Should not have these severe body impressions this early in its life.

Several folks I know who bought from Southern Lifestyles and had issues with their new mattress were able to exchange under much more favorable terms.

Once we get to where we can't stand the new one any longer, next stop will be Southern Lifestyles.

So, don't just shop price, also shop service after the sale and exchange policy.

Bought a Nature's Rest mattress about three years ago from a mattress store that is no longer around. The mattress is now sagging on one side and the company that makes them has problems...seems they were bought out and are now setting up again to deal with apparently many complaints on this brand of mattress. It's a latex mattress. After having difficulties over the years with 2 different Simmons, a local California brand and now the Nature's Rest, I checked out MANY mattress message boards. Seems that the Nature's Rest is NOTED for premature sagging around 3 years or so. Have just bought and received my Flo Bed.....it's a bed you make yourself. Saying that, you can determine the feel you want and the components are shipped to you from Ft. Bragg, CA. There have been only glowing reports about this company and now that we have our bed, I know why. There is a 90 day trial period....you can exchange latex cores during that period to get just the right "feel." It is shipped to you via UPS. Our king arrived in 6 rather large boxes... You are able to customize each side of the bed to suit the sleeper. Hubby uses extra firm, firm, medium cores, I have firm, medium, soft. It's topped off with either a memory foam topper or latex topper.

Sleeping on this type of latex is different....it sort of feels like you're getting on to firm jello, but the comfort and SUPPORT are amazing. If one core wears, you only have to replace that part and not buy another mattress. For me this is a blessing....and same for hubby....he's tired of mattresses coming and going in our house. Wish I had know of this company (it's been around since 1979) when I lived in CA! Go to flobeds.com and you'll get all sorts of info. Another company that "makes" beds in a similar way is Sleepez.com

Good luck.

One more thing.....you might want to check out any mattress you consider online from web sites like sleeplikethedead.com You can also type in "problems with ------ mattress" and see what comes up. Put the name of the mattress in where I've typed ------. That's how I found out there were problems with the Nature's Rest mattress.

Have fun shopping, buying a car is easier, I think...

Try the Select Comfort store in Paddock Mall, Ocala. You can never go wrong with your own Sleep Number.

Boy, your story sounds familiar Mary. I am not impressed with today's mattresses. Can't flip 'em, issues with sagging, and they don't last. Once you find it doesn't work for you, it can be a hassle dealing with the store on replacement.

Mary and 07 you're right. I didn't know you couldn't flip the new mattresses until we started looking. Maybe if you could turn the darned things over they wouldn't sag like the new ones do.

Mary, two questions...
What was the name of the "no show" company?
What type/brand did you buy used, Sleep Number?

King and Queen sizes have double controls. Some full size models are also double controls. You also don't have to worry about sagging either.
