Default MVP Fitness Center cost

I saw in the paper about the preregistration for the new fitness center. Does anyone know the cost? It said no contract. Just interested.

Not new Yoda. They took over the management at the Wellness center in SS.

They are also increasing the size of the fitness center, they have the first floor too. Mercantile is moving across the street. I'm going down to sign up now. Big price difference from Wellness center where the spin classes cost an obscene amount of money.....I tried one, not good, hopefully MVP will have real Spin classes.

Do they have a couple rate also, or just flat $39 a month for each? Also if we go later this week, do we still get the rate lock-in forever and no initial fee?

I remember way back when the TV sales office in SS moved from the corner building it is now in to the Wellness center building, one of the sales people told me that when the sales office was no longer needed it would be converted to a hotel.

I can see today with the size of TV that, that building would not be adequate and other hotels were built. To me that building was always going to be a beautiful hotel.

If you can insult a building the Wellness center does that.

What can we do about all of these landscape people that put lawncare signs in someone's yard, and the house owners are up north? I think the landscape people should have to come back and take them down after a week or so.

Army Guy... the story in the Daily Sun said that one flat fee... mo packages!... so for a couple... would be $78/mo.

And Baltimore Guy... I think you are in the wrong forum!!!

I don't have the paper with me, but I believe you can join up until end of Aug and after that the price only goes up a few dollars a month. Still not a bad price. They are also having the usual summer special prices for regional req centers, I think it is $100 for 3 months, and you can also sign up before end of Aug for that.

I like the current Wellness center but from what I've heard from the trainers and workers there, MVP will only enhance the center and bring it up to current state-of-the-art equipment, etc. It will be more of a sports center that I'm used to. There will be a juice bar in the lobby and there will be more individual exercise rooms and the private trainer room will be doubled in size with all new equipment. I am very excited about this new management and I will probably sign up to renew my membership. I'll miss going through the Mercantile store but I will force myself to visit it across the street.

I think its interesting that with the Veranda being sold out to Panera and the Wellness Center to MVP, I wonder if TV management is looking for money? Any thoughts on this???

It's $39+tax for the first member and 30+tax for the second. After taxes it comes to $41.73 a month for the primary member. This is an all inclusive rate and this remains your rate as long as you're a current member. There is no initiation fee if you sign up before September. After September the rate for the primary member increases to $45+tax with a $75 initiation fee.

I don't think running restaurants and other types of business is in their business plan. When I moved to TV 10 years ago, it seemed like they owned most of the restaurants and other businesses. You could even use their money, called "Villages Bucks" which came in mulitple denominations, to buy goods and services. As TV grew, they slowly sold or leased these assets and ended the Village Bucks program. The Villages is in business to create the best retirement community in the country. I think they know you can't excel at everything, so they divest themselves from businesses outside of their comfort zones and let those that specialize in these run them.

Great all, thanks for the info. We will probably jointhis weekend while we are down. When we were down last weekend, we saw in the paper about the no fee, and forever rate lockin, but not actual rate. So for us, it will be $73 and change a month. Not bad for a first rate place.

Kathie, I agree with Ooper. Just in the short time we have owned in TV and all the research I have done, the Morses are in the development mode right now. So hanging on to buisnesses does not fit there game plan.

Default Spinning and Yoga

Are there any other places in or near the villages to get Spin or Yoga classes besides the New MVP Center?

First member costs $39.00 a month, second person $35.00 a month. MVP is 100% better than wellness center ever was. Lots of classes, all free(with the exception of golf and /or softball conditioning). Still working out what final class schedules will be and if they will be different in winter, etc....spin classes are excellent now. They use a selection of music provided by MVP and it will change every 3 months I think. Previous instructors who can't cut it with MVP no longer teaching. I agree the building is beautiful and a fitness center doesn't seem to go in there, but they are renovating it tastefully. try it, it's great !
